Reporting to the Sr. Director of Editorial Services and Communications, Global Engagement and Communications Office (GECO), the Senior Communications Manager, Africa Region (SCMAR) will work collaboratively with GECO to promote Jhpiego’s work in Africa to external audiences to position the organization across the region as technical leaders in maternal and newborn health, malaria and HIV prevention/treatment, cervical cancer prevention and other public health issues. The SCMAR will strengthen the organization’s regional profile by developing the capacity of country communicators to deliver top-tier communications products focused on Africa-wide impact, develop an Africa-wide communications strategy, build relationships with key stakeholders and secure high-level media placements across the continent and globally.
The SCMAR will work with communicators and communications liaisons within Africa to meet Jhpiego communications standards, strengthen stakeholder engagement and contribute to new business development. The SCMAR will assist the senior communications director in building a repository of impact-driven success stories to be used in corporate communications, marketing and fundraising materials. The SCMAR will collaborate with Country Directors and Global Program and Technical Leadership leads to ensure that Jhpiego staff are familiar with organizational communications policies and participate in corporate communications efforts. This will include developing the presentation and executive presence skills of Jhpiego communicators, technical leaders, and Country Directors in explaining the organization’s impact.
Technical Advisor, Family Planning (FP) needed to serve as a multi-country point person for FP and integrated awards and to provide technical assistance and support on interval, postpartum, and post-abortion family planning to sponsored activities, programs, and publications. The FP Advisor will also support new business development, aligned with the FP unit’s strategy. As a member of the Family Planning Unit, the FP Advisor will sit within the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent (RMNCAH) division within TLI. This includes working with global award and country program teams to ensure programs implement high-quality technical approaches to family planning that reflect best practices, represent Jhpiego externally to demonstrate Jhpiego’s technical capacity and program impact and will serve an important role in ensuring results, knowledge, and learning from Jhpiego’s programs are shared and used internally and externally. The strengths that the FP Technical Advisor will bring to the team will allow for support to any of the above technical sub-areas: implementation research design and protocol development, collaborative learning, adaptative management, social and behavior change, human centered design, instructional design, clinical service delivery, quality of care, policy and advocacy, family planning in context of strengthening health systems, primary or universal health coverage, family planning integrated into maternal health care (including postpartum and post-abortion care), private sector engagement, gender integration, adolescent-responsive services, or related functions critical to Jhpiego’s diverse portfolio of programs. In addition, the FP Advisor is expected to support robust monitoring and evaluation, business development, knowledge management, and materials development, and will respond to the Director, global award leads covering effort, and country staff requests. The FP team works collaboratively to provide top-notch technical assistance to global initiatives and country programs and to provide global leadership and innovations in family planning.
Jhpiego's Technical Leadership and Innovation (TLI) Office drives impact across Jhpiego's core areas of work in women's health (maternal and newborn health, reproductive health and family planning and women's cancer) infectious disease (HIV/AIDS, Malria, COVID-19 response/global health security), health systems strengthening, primary health care, immunization and safe surgery. This dynamic team of technical leaders provides "best in class" technical leadership and support responsive to country needs and in pursuit of accelerated impact.
Sr. Communications Specialist will provide cross cutting communications support across the Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control (RISE) Project’s HIV and COVID response efforts. This includes serving as the primary communications focal person supporting RISE’s central level communications priorities and liaising with and providing support to communications teams within RISE’s country programs.
RISE is a 5-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). RISE works with countries to achieve a shared vision of attaining and maintaining HIV epidemic control, with stronger local partners capable of managing and achieving results through sustainable, self-reliant, and resilient health systems. RISE provides HIV and COVID response support to national and sub-national health systems through strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to improve prevention, case finding and treatment programming in supported countries. The RISE consortium is led by Jhpiego in partnership with ICAP at Columbia University (ICAP), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), ANOVA Health Institute (ANOVA), BAO Systems, JHU Center for Public Health and Human Rights (JHU), and Mann Global Health (MGH).
Sr. Finance Manager (Francophone) will provide leadership in overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of Jhpiego’s global programs finance unit for the Francophone portfolio. This includes support during the full life cycle of a assigned programs for various countries including but not limited to: proposals, start-up, implementation financial monitoring and management, close-out and other cross-cutting functions such as auditing and financial reporting. The Sr. Finance Manager (Francophone) is part of the Program Finance Unit Management Team working closely with the Sr. Director of the Global Programs Finance Unit, Program Staff, and Jhpiego’s Country offices to ensure accurate financial, contractual and administrative reporting to the management team and to agencies external to Jhpiego. This includes ensuring financial systems and reports are compatible with standard Jhpiego accounting practices and follow donor rules and regulations.
The Sr. Finance Manager provides financial guidance to the GPO Management Team, Jhpiego’s Program Managers, Country Directors, and agencies external to Jhpiego, particularly partner organizations. The SFM must work closely with both the Global Programs Finance Unit’s leadership to ensure that resources are appropriately allocated and tracked (including earmarks) and that expenditures are in line with available funding. The SFM must also provide capacity building, coaching and mentoring of junior finance staff at HQ and in-country and local partners by developing learning activities and materials to support capacity building. Contribute to staff orientation and technical updates to ensure staff possess excellent knowledge of technical area and approaches.
The DREAMS Technical Lead will provide technical oversight and direction for an anticipated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) project focusing on scaling-up Comprehensive High Impact Community Based HIV Prevention, Testing and Treatment initiation services in five PEPFAR districts in Lesotho. The DREAMS Technical Lead will support the third strategy under this project: Provide integrated programming of DREAMS core package of interventions for AGYW and their sexual partners. This Technical Lead will use project data to inform development and adaptation of best practices and will lead the DREAMS team to implement targeted and high-quality interventions that achieve project goals, objectives and project targets. S/he will identify opportunities for innovation and address bottlenecks. S/he will be responsible for representing the CDC DREAMS project interventions in donor, partner and district level meetings; for ensuring collaboration with other partners/stakeholders, and working closely with District Management Team (DHMT), to ensure alignment with their priorities and guidance. S/he will ensure timely and cost-effective district level implementation and reporting to the project management team. This position is contingent upon award. The Receptionist is the first point of contact for Jhpiego and as such present the first impression of the organization to visitors and clients. This position will provide customer service, security and administrative support required to insure that Jhpiego’s reception area is functioning properly.
The Senior Program Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Program Officer, Finance Manager, and representatives from different Jhpiego departments (e.g., Contracts Management Compliance Division [CMCD], Travel, Procurement, Global External Communications Office [GECO]) to support country teams and global projects to successfully implement projects. The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that administrative tasks are completed. The exact support needed will vary by country, but will likely include: US-based procurement, processing contracts, setting up payments from US, setting up meetings, taking notes, reviewing/editing reports, minor translation needs for certain countries, etc. The Senior Program Coordinator will support the Ghana portfolio, the Global Reach II global program, and the Momentum Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) program.
Network Analyst needed to support its enterprise network systems including monitoring, analysis, and reporting of the network infrastructure at Jhpiego offices; working with network teams to deploy system updates; and making recommendations for improvement of IT services, as required. Network Analyst will monitor Jhpiego’s enterprise network systems, ensuring service availability, monitor all aspects of the network infrastructure, responds to issues and escalates to Sr. Engineers, and works with the Global IT team on infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and implementations across Jhpiego offices. This position serves as a member of Jhpiego’s Global IT team, and follows direction from the Sr. Director of IT.

Sr. Technical Support Analyst needed to effectivly run conference room technology and user support of equipment and software. Sr. Technical Support Analyst is a member of Jhpiego’s Global IT and follows direction from the ISTS Service Desk Manager. The nature of this work requires an individual who is service-oriented, organized, and who can interact with diverse end-users and technical staff, prioritize tasks, and resolve technical issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving service requests for Jhpiego-supported hardware and software; creating documentation; providing training to end-users; and collaboration with IT teams. Hardware support includes Windows and Mac laptops and iOS devices. Software support includes Microsoft 365, Mac OS, and Windows (latest version).
Program Officer needed to provide coordinated and comprehensive program management support across global COVID-19 and critical care response projects, under a global USAID-funded project. Program Officer will join a growing core team of program, financial and technical staff, to support development, implementation and monitoring of project activities at the central and country levels for RISE COVID-19 response activities, including critical care case management, vaccination, O2 infrastructure, field support and related activities. This includes support planning, implementing and reporting for expanding global COVID-19 emergency response efforts, including work planning; technical and program support to teams and working groups; report writing; financial oversight and sub-award management; operations and administration. Program Officer will provide critical support to the program leadership to liaise with technical, country backstop, finance, operations, communications, and other units within Jhpiego to ensure coordination and integration of project activities. Program Officer will also support coordination with RISE implementing and consortium partners, Johns Hopkins University Center for Global Emergency Care, as well as with USAID as needed.
Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control (RISE) is a $200+ million, 5-year global project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Through RISE, Jhpiego implements HIV prevention research and programmatic efforts; and over the past year, RISE has leveraged these HIV platforms to respond to the COVID-19 crisis in priority countries including but not limited to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique and Rwanda.
