Jhpiego through the Accelerating Measurable Progress and Leveraging Investments for Postpartum Haemorrhage Impact (AMPLI-PPHI) project in collaboration with the Division of Reproductive and Maternal Health and Makueni County (Department of Health) plans to carry out a study titled, “Implementation of WHO recommendations for drugs and approaches to prevent and treat postpartum haemorrhage: a multi-country feasibility, acceptability and cost-effectiveness study”. The AMPLI-PPHI study is being conducted in Makueni County in Kenya with some study participants drawn from the national level.   STUDY SUMMARY: The purpose of this study is to assess feasibility and acceptability of expanding the package of drugs and approaches available to prevent and treat postpartum haemorrhage in 36 select health facilities in Makueni county. The study participants will involve postpartum women, community representatives, healthcare providers and key MNH stakeholders. An inclusion and exclusion criteria will be used to determine the eligibility of the study participants. The findings from this study will be used inform government decisions on where and how to introduce an expanded package of WHO-recommended drugs and approaches for PPH prevention and treatment. Study participants and people living in study locations may benefit from improved health services if study findings stimulate policy change and resource allocation. Research findings are also intended to inform WHO guidance on operationalizing PPH-related recommendations.   Jhpiego seeks an experienced qualitative research transcription firm to conduct timely, high-quality transcription of audio recordings of interviews and focus group discussions conducted for a research study assessing feasibility and acceptability of expanding the package of drugs and approaches available to prevent and treat postpartum haemorrhage in Makueni County.

Qualitative research activities include interviews and focus group discussions with national and county-level decision-makers, health workers responsible for maternity care, postpartum women, and community leaders. The firm will be responsible for implementing approved study protocols to recruit and consent study participants, conduct data collection, and manage data transfer to Jhpiego study team members for transcription/translation. Jhpiego, a global leader in improving health care for women and families, seeks a Admin & Finance officer, based in Karachi. The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an on-site financial and bookkeeping system required assuring the integrity and effective performance of the financial operations.   The Finance & Admin officer will be assisting Finance/Operations Manager and will be responsible for overall financial activities in the Province. S/he will be responsible for providing admin support, preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls and generating local financial report. S/he will be performing all actions and producing all documents, feedbacks and links that will allow the HO to achieve its project objectives and provide self-audit and monitoring capacity.

The Project Management and Finance Director (MFD) will oversee the financial planning, management and reporting activities in support of an upcoming global health project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. The project, valued at $90 million, will support in-country counterparts in 24 focus countries and 32 technical assistance countries to scale up and improve management of drug-resistant TB (DR TB) by expanding access to high quality treatment services.  This project will provide specialized technical assistance to enhance the quality of country-level DR-TB projects.     The MFD will work closely with the Project Director, Senior Management Team, Global Program Staff, and project country offices to ensure timely and accurate financial, award and administrative management, representation, analyses and reporting to the project management team, partners and agencies external to Jhpiego. This position is directly accountable for the financial, award and administrative compliance of the award. The MFD will be based in Jhpiego’s Baltimore office and international travel will be required.   This position is contingent upon award and annual funding from USAID.

Jhpiego seeks a Project Director (PD) to provide vision, leadership and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity for an upcoming global health project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. The project, valued at $90 million, will support in-country counterparts in 24 focus countries and 32 technical assistance countries to scale up and improve management of drug-resistant TB (DR TB) by expanding access to high quality treatment services.  This project will provide specialized technical assistance to enhance the quality of country-level DR-TB projects.   The Project Director will have the overall responsibility for leadership and management and reporting of project activities across multiple country settings. The PD will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and project quality and integrity. The PD will serve as the project’s main point of contact with USAID on routine and strategic matters. The PD will also ensure effective organizational management and communication with host country governments and key stakeholders at all levels, including international entities.    This position is contingent upon award and annual funding from USAID.

The Technical Support Officer will work in close collaboration with MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL)’s FP Team, including the FP Director, Technical Manager, Program Officer, Technical Advisors, and Sr. Program Coordinator, to provide program support in the areas of family planning and gender with a wide range of potential activities, including supporting MCGL’s postpartum family planning (PPFP) and hormonal intrauterine device (IUD) activities and global learning agenda, as well as evaluation of the integration of gender into efforts to improve client-centered, quality care across RMNCAH. The Technical Support Officer will manage day-to-day planning, development, and execution of projects within MCGL’s FP team, and ensure strong collaboration between headquarters and field teams, as well as partners external to the organization.   The Technical Support Officer will also support the MCGL Senior Management team with overall program management duties assigned by the Senior Portfolio Manager.  

The Driver/Expeditor operates assigned vehicle for the purpose of transporting Jhpiego employees conducting project business to various locations within and outside Addis Ababa, and performs expediting duties. 

The Compliance Manager in collaboration with the Finance & Admin Director and Country Director/Chief of Party will ensure that Jhpiego projects in the Cameroon are compliant. He will contribute to build capacity of the programs and the staff on compliance; act as the custodian for the Internal Control Reviews; and ensure that the sub grantees are compliant.

The IT Officer will provide network and desktop administrative support to all the programs and staff located at each location in IT Officer for Jhpiego in accordance to Jhpiego global policies. He/She will be responsible for upkeep of the equipment including computers, printers, photocopy machine, camera, LCD projector, data cards, landline phones etc. As the IT Officer will also establish relationships with local vendors for procurement of equipment and assume responsibility for assuring quality service from selected vendors
