Jhpiego seeks a Chief of Party (COP) to provide vision, leadership and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity for an upcoming USAID-funded malaria project in Cameroon. This project will support the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to implement activities to reduce malaria morbidity and maternal and child mortality. The project will operate over a 5-year period.
The Chief of Party will have the overall responsibility for leadership and management and reporting of project activities. S/he will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and project quality and integrity. S/he will serve as the project’s main point of contact with USAID on routine and strategic matters. S/he will also ensure effective organizational management and communication with host country governments and key stakeholders at all levels, including international entities.

We are looking for a Locally-driven Capacity Development Advisor who can refine our internal strategy and accompanying programmatic approach and tools that span our capacity development approaches across technical (MNH, malaria, HIV, etc.) and organizational areas (leadership and governance, finance, human resources). The Locally-driven Capacity Development Advisor will provide leadership, expertise, and high level technical and program support for our country offices and local partners.
Humanitarian Advisor needed to provide leadership, management, strategic oversight for Jhpiego’s humanitarian work across the world. This will include developing an internal humanitarian strategy including positioning Jhpiego in this area, leading a multi-disciplinary internal working group, and providing leadership and operational advice to countries as they work in the humanitarian sector. The Humanitarian Advisor will work collaboratively with liaisons from different departments at Jhpiego, especially with the New Program Business Development (NPD), Technical Leadership and Innovation Office (TLI), and the Security Director.
The successful candidate will have experience leading/managing projects in the humanitarian sector, implementing USG funded integrated health projects, and establishing systems to ensure compliance with core standards throughout the humanitarian program cycle. In addition, candidates should have strong management and organization skills, excellent mentoring and interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to work with a range of internal and external partners.

Sr. Program Officer needed to work in close collaboration with the Sr. Portfolio Manager, Country Directors, and Finance Manager to manage country operations for several portfolio countries including Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Niger. Responsibilities include ensuring that good project management practices and tools are being used to stay on scope, schedule, budget in the region and for the country supported; providing support to country and region as requested/needed by the country directors. SPO will also support quality improvement and assurance initiatives in the region and support countries in the region to win new business.
The Program Officer II will work in close collaboration with the Senior Program Manager for Portfolio 5, Country Directors, and Finance Manager to manage country operations for several portfolio countries including Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Niger. The Program Officer II is responsible for ensuring that good project management practices and tools are being used to stay on scope, schedule, budget for the project. The Program Officer II is responsible for managing relationships with subrecipients and the donor.
The Finance Administrator – Treasury manages Jhpiego’s international banking products and processes for Jhpiego field offices, and is the primary relationship manager between Jhpiego and Johns Hopkins University (JHU) treasury. This position works closely with the staff of JHU Treasury, with Jhpiego Global Program Operations field office staff (incountry,) and Global Program Finance headquarters staff.
Additionally, the Finance Administrator manages and processes financial transactions involving service center, general funds, and gift and discretionary accounts for the Jhpiego.
Jhpiego is looking for a creative and dynamic Knowledge Management (KM) Advisor to support the implementation of Jhpiego's KM action plan. Drawing on effective KM and continuous learning practices, this position will provide strategic support to tailor KM and learning strategies to improve knowledge capture, curation, synthesis, storage, and dissemination with the goal of ensuring our collective knowledge can be shared and used to catalyze action.
This position will support KM and learning activities at both the project and organizational levels. They will work with the Senior KM Advisor and across departments to ensure that Jhpiego’s KM and learning systems are responsive to the needs of our staff, projects, and programs - both as channels for accessing knowledge and sharing knowledge with the global Jhpiego community.
The KM Advisor will play an important role in shaping and strengthening global, regional, and national capacity in KM. This position will help develop relationships within and outside Jhpiego to expand the reach and maximize the impact of Jhpiego’s work across diverse partners, stakeholders, and networks. This position will also help ensure that the application and use of digital tools and systems can help strengthen multi-directional learning and collaboration across Jhpiego’s multicultural and multilingual workforce.
Jhpiego is looking for a creative and dynamic Sr Advisor, MNH Knowledge Solutions eager to lead AlignMNH’s efforts to collect, curate and connect MNH stakeholders to knowledge in meaningful ways to catalyze action. AlignMNH is a five-year initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) with the United States Department for International Development (USAID), and is guided by an International Steering Committee of 20 global thought leaders working in collaboration with a Secretariat led by Jhpiego. The initiative seeks to align global maternal and newborn health (MNH) priorities, metrics, financing and action in support of accelerated improvements in MNH and well-being in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Inclusive of a bi-annual conference series and an online Knowledge Hub, AlignMNH seeks to increase opportunities for sharing of technical evidence and program experiences, nurture opportunities for cross-country engagement, dialogue and learning and encourage use of metrics and application of evidence-based practices.
About this role:
Drawing on principles of knowledge management and behavioral science, this position will lead in the design and implementation of strategies and knowledge products that reach audiences where they are, with the evidence, resources and tools they need and in formats that encourage learning and action to improve uptake of best practices in MNH. The Sr Advisor will drive the development of and oversee AlignMNH’s Knowledge Hub and dissemination activities using targeted and innovative knowledge management, communications, advocacy and dissemination strategies that address different learning styles and maximize interaction and collaboration to inspire action. This position will also contribute to the development of communications for virtual convenings and the bi-annual international conference series.

Jhpiego is seeking a Sr. Maternal Newborn Health (MNH) Advisor to provide leadership, expertise, and high level technical and program support in the areas of health workforce, with a focus on nurse-midwifery health workforce issues, and maternal and newborn health service delivery strengthening interventions. This role includes a wide range of potential activities, including support for strengthening nurse-midwifery education and support for implementation of evidence-based MNH interventions; translation of global guidance into recommended educational and health system strengthening; and critical review of current evidence and corresponding gaps in policy, guidelines, and action at country level.
The Sr. MNH Advisor will ensure excellence across a portfolio of projects with responsibility for implementing activities and overseeing progress of midwifery health workforce and related MNH priorities. This position will provide technical leadership to support Jhpiego’s midwifery and MNH portfolio, develop strategic partnerships and provide expert guidance and support in the development and implementation of global and country programs, ensuring opportunities to address health system strengthening, performance and quality improvement, and in-service training/pre-service education needs. The Sr. MNH Advisor will work in close collaboration with other teams and advisors including family planning, quality improvement, innovations, health systems strengthening, gender, and adolescent and youth health. This position will ensure the technical and methodological soundness of Jhpiego’s nurse-midwifery education and MNH programs at the country level, and in collaboration with partners, lead the design of clinical service delivery strategies, based on sound and current scientific evidence. The Sr. Advisor will also review incoming aggregate program data and work with country program staff to revise technical and programmatic approaches as needed, based on review of data and adaptive management, to meet program and organizational goals.
