Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Regional Team Lead-Health System Strengthening- NE States for its comprehensive primary healthcare strengthening project – NISHTHA. The position will be based at Assam, Guwahati and will work closely with the CPHC team based at India country office and state teams for backstopping and leading CPHC program operations in all the North East NISHTHA intervention states.
This position requires managerial & technical expertise, public health experience, strong coordination skills, understanding of Indian public health system and ability to develop positive, professional working relationships with various government counterparts and other development partners. This position will report to Chief of Party (CoP) - NISHTHA.
The New Program Development (NPD) Manager works together with technical and program staff in Baltimore and in overseas field offices to develop and pursue funding to support Jhpiego’s mission. The NPD Manager serves primarily in a planning and proposal/pitch production capacity: contributing to prospect research, analyzing opportunities, managing moderate to highly complex proposals, assuring responsiveness and successful submission across all donors, whether prime or sub. Applying critical thinking skills, the NPD Manager will be involved in supporting donor relations and stewardship, including: proactive pursuit of new opportunities, qualification of opportunities; proposal development and management; writing; and ensuring successful transition of new programs to program colleagues. The NPD Manager interprets unique demands of specific bids, adapts or modifies standard operating procedures to fit specific proposals (proposal team requirements, workflow, and sequencing of proposal needs). The NPD Manager co-facilitates proposal design both from Baltimore and in country with technical and program colleagues and advises on partnership decisions and management for proposal design.
The NPD Manager analyzes opportunities, develops and continually focuses teams on win themes, ensures regular engagement and communication with country offices to strategically inform leads and proposal development. They monitor the activities of competitors, partners and donors, and actively apply related knowledge, thereby improving responsiveness of persuasive, winning proposals. Similarly, the NPD Manager leads moderate complexity positioning/relationship development with external donors and formulates pitches/cases for why donors should partner with Jhpiego. The NPD Manager leverages analytical findings to independently modify and adapt processes, procedures, approaches to work and operationalizes solutions.
We seek a creative, pro-active and passionate professional with a growth mindset who thrives on playing a key role turning ideas into action, working with and through technical and multi-disciplinary teams. The selected candidate can exercise independence and decision-making capabilities to enhance, modify, and adapt NPD approaches to meet changing needs among the proposal management cadre. The selected candidate can expect to grow core competencies in developing and refining theories of change, understanding/facilitating and/or drafting compelling proposal content and sharpening draft narrative. Similarly, the selected candidate will grow in the areas of interpreting motivators behind donor interests, particularly within private sector and foundation donors, and translating these interests into effective donor strategies. The selected candidate can exercise judgement based on practical lessons and coach supervisees, including determining requirements for work by consultants to complement team. The selected candidate will assist in creating or visioning theories of change as technical liaison for high touch technical areas and/or serve as portfolio manager to define direction and life cycle of New Program Development for countries in portfolio.

The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that administrative tasks are completed. The exact support needed will vary by country, but will likely include: US-based procurement, processing contracts, setting up payments from US, setting up meetings, taking notes, reviewing/editing reports for completeness, minor translation needs for certain countries.

This is a hybrid role that is based out of our Baltimore, MD office.
Maternal Newborn Health (MNH) Technical Advisor will support technical writing across the MNH team to create technical reports/briefs on research findings, conduct literature reviews of current evidence, compile and/or develop intervention-related toolkits and materials, develop research protocols, and contribute to manuscript development. The position will work collaboratively across TLI with the other technical units (e.g., family planning, quality improvement, innovations, health systems strengthening, community, and gender, and adolescent and youth health).

Jhpiego’s Maternal and Newborn Health team sits within the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent (RMNCAH) division within TLI. The MNH team is a diverse group of clinical and program experts with deep experience in technical leadership and collaborative health system support in low-, middle-, and high-income countries across five continents, including fragile and conflict areas. Jhpiego seeks a Senior Global Health Security Advisor to provide programmatic leadership on infectious disease and malaria while supervising and mentoring technical staff for an upcoming USAID integrated health project. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of host-country institutions and local organizations to improve equitable access and utilization of quality, evidence-based, and respectful public health services in maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health, family planning, reproductive health, and malaria. The project will also support strengthening capacity to detect, prepare and respond to health emergencies. The project will operate over a five-year period.
The Senior Global Health Security Advisor will be a subject matter expert in Infectious Disease or Clinical Epidemiology, with extensive experience in programmatic management of large health programs on a global level. The ideal candidate will have experience in global health emergencies, large-scale malaria programs or related infectious diseases programs. S/he will be the focal person for global health security related and malaria activities under the ISDA. This position will have supervisory and mentorship roles of select ISDA technical staff, and will therefore have the depth of knowledge, skills and experience in mentorship and teaching/healthcare training.

Jhpiego seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director / M&E Specialist to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for MEL activities for an upcoming USAID integrated reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and malaria, adolescent and family planning project. The project aims to reduce child and maternal mortality through improved utilization of quality reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health as well as malaria control and prevention services in Rwanda. The project will operate over a five-year period.
The MEL Director will provide technical leadership to develop project framework, plans and indicators to capture project performance results and provide effective, accurate and timely monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all project activities. The MEL Director will supervise and manage the MEL team to design and implement the project’s MEL activities, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into program implementation to continuously improve quality of interventions and outcomes. The MEL Director is responsible for documenting and disseminating program successes and challenges to USAID. The MEL Director will also be responsible for designing and conducting operations research. The MEL Director will liaise with consortium partners and the Ministry of Health to implement monitoring and evaluation activities.

Jhpiego seeks a Finance and Administration (F&A) Director for an anticipated USAID-funded integrated health service delivery project in Rwanda. S/he will provide leadership in overseeing the financial, contractual, program operations and administrative aspects of the project. The F&A Director will work closely with the Rwanda Country Leadership, Global Program Staff, and others to ensure accurate financial, contractual and administrative reporting to the management team and to agencies external to Jhpiego. The F&A Director also ensure the integrity of financial data and reports are compatible with standard accounting practices and follow USAID and Jhpiego rules and regulations. Jhpiego seeks a Chief of Party (COP) to provide vision, leadership and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity for an upcoming USAID integrated health project. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of host-country institutions and local organizations to improve equitable access and utilization of quality, evidence-based, respectful, maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health, family planning, and reproductive health; and malaria. The project will also support strengthening capacity to detect, prepare and respond to health emergencies. The project will operate over a five-year period.
The COP will have the overall responsibility for leadership and management and reporting of project activities. S/he will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and program quality and integrity. S/he will serve as the project’s main point of contact with USAID, on routine and strategic matters. S/he will also ensure effective organizational management and communication with the government of Rwanda at all levels, and international partners and agencies. The COP will be an expert in public health and health systems, with proven experience managing comparable health programs.
