Overview

The incumbent is responsible for Bangladesh office HR related all support, hiring staff, including orientation of new staff and separation of staff as per Jhpiego policy and procedures. Establish specific HR objectives for country office to ensure that HR policy/procedures and standards are met. This position is also need to work closely with Finance, Operations team and all project s leads.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the country’s HR needs and establish specific HR objectives for country office to ensure that HR policy/procedures and standards are met
  • Ensure country level management team members are well versed on country-related HR policies and that policies are implemented consistently and advice Head of Finance and Operations and Country Lead on all HR related issues
  • Review salary and benefits policies for local nationals to ensure that organization is able to attract and retain highly skilled staff and coordinate annual merit review process
  • Review and update local employment policies as per local laws and best practices in the international NGO community and liaise with Global Human Resources as and when required
  • Provide guidance to Head of Finance and Operations/Country Lead on all local compensation related issues including but are not limited to review salary scales and benchmark to the market on a regular basis.
  • Manage the design, implementation and administration of innovative compensation programs and policies and conduct job evaluations on new and existing positions, including reviewing job descriptions and recommending appropriate grade assignments
  • Organize, lead and document post-interview debrief/feedback with interview teams and candidates and perform detailed reference checking and/or reference analyses on selected candidates and review results with hiring managers
  • Ensure recruiting and hiring practices complies with government regulations and organizational policies and regularly evaluate recruitment strategies for individual positions to ensure that appropriate candidates are being
  • Coordinate on-boarding with other departments to support the learning process of new employees, ensure all new staff are trained on compliance procedures and processes.
  • Conduct follow-up with new staff to ensure adaptation and identify problem areas and work closely with Supervisors to address issues affecting new staff
  • Develop and maintain a healthy employee relations environment providing staff a venue to discuss their work-related problems and concern, advise and assist staff with disciplinary and grievance issues and mediate in staff conflict situations
  • Ensure that employee files are complete and all required documentation is maintained in a confidential and secure manner. Ensure that HQ receives new employee documentation in a timely fashion.

Complaince & Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Any Other responsibilities given by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 05 years of work experience and 03 years of managerial experience in Human Resources Department of development/ humanitarian field or any other relevant organization.
  • Masters in Human Resource Management from any reputed University.
  • SHRM, PGHRM or any other relevant HR focused certification will get preference.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR concepts and standard practice, contemporary HR issues, developmental standards,
  • Advance knowledge in Bangladesh labor law
  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Excellent Communication, Coordination and Networking skills.
  • Ability to operate in a complex organization, across functions and work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of diverse teams
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization
  • Focused on delivering results by taking calculated-risks and problem solving approach
