Sr. Technical Advisor, Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) needed to provide technical expertise to support AlignMNH and maternal and newborn health programming.  This includes providing technical and program support in the areas of maternal and newborn health, with a wide range of potential activities, including curation of key technical content for knowledge sharing activities, translation of global guidance into recommended health system actions; collaboration on implementation and health systems research; and critical review of current evidence and corresponding gaps in policy, guidelines, and action at country level. The position will engage with cross cutting teams including immunization, safe surgery, adolescent health, family planning, and gender.  The Sr Advisor, MNH will also review incoming aggregate program data and work with country program staff to revise technical and programmatic approaches as needed, based on review of data, to meet program and organizational goals.   AlignMNH builds on decades of work across the MNH community and seeks to complement and amplify existing efforts to accelerate progress toward meeting the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) era targets for maternal and newborn health and reducing stillbirths. Progress has plateaued in many countries and MNH priorities risk getting lost amidst multiple competing health priorities, especially as countries transition through phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, which threatens to reverse hard-fought gains and progress. By convening stakeholders in a regular and predictable manner and building a knowledge exchange platform upon which these stakeholders can share learning, experiences and evidence, AlignMNH aims to support countries in realizing their MNH goals.
