The Principal Technical Advisor will act as the main M&E point of contact to assigned country teams within Jhpiego’s U.S. Government (USG)/Department of State (DOS) multi-country global health programming. Jhpiego’s global health programming supports integrated, sustainable health services including HIV; Sustainability, transition and integration, Global Health Security (GHS), maternal, newborn, and child health; and other priority health areas across multiple countries. The PTA will work in close collaboration with the DOS project’s core global team, relevant technical leads and contributors, and country offices to provide specialized support and guidance and to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
This position is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and performance-based financing (PBF) support to assigned country programs, ensuring alignment with global strategies, technical guidance, and organizational standards. The incumbent provides technical leadership for M&E and PBF planning during workplan development, monitors project performance, reviews and analyzes data to support evidence-based decision-making, and contributes to the quality assurance of narrative reports, verification memos, and key deliverables. Responsibilities include overseeing data quality assessments, advising on digital health and data management needs, regularly reviewing milestone achievement data, and proactively identifying and resolving implementation challenges in collaboration with country teams, technical leads, and senior management. The position also maintains regular engagement with Country Support Teams (CSTs) and in-country M&E/PBF staff through routine technical meetings, coaching, and problem-solving support.

The salary range for this role is expected to be: $102,944 - $134,039

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
