Overview

The Communication Intern will work to support the implementation of internal and external communication activities. The intern will assist in documenting program achievements, creating content for approved digital platforms, supporting events, and promoting the organization's visibility among stakeholders, partners, donors, and beneficiaries.

This internship provides practical experience in strategic communications and storytelling while offering mentorship and support from the Communications Team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and editing communication content, including success stories, social media content, and promotional materials.
  • Assist in the collection, documentation, and management of photos, videos, beneficiary stories, and other communication assets.
  • Assist in maintaining social media platforms by creating content, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and preparing analytics reports.
  • Document project activities, meetings, workshops, and events, and maintain communication databases and archives.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and reporting on events, including photography, videography, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational branding guidelines and provide administrative and logistical support for communication activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, English, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Basic graphic design, photography, and videography skills are an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
