About the Program
Jhpiego serves as a technical support partner to the State Health Society, Bihar, helping strengthen the implementation of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) through Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Its role includes building the capacity of Community Health Officers and frontline health workers, supporting quality assurance systems, strengthening health service delivery, promoting community engagement, and facilitating the expansion of essential primary healthcare services. Jhpiego also supports the government in developing sustainable healthsystem processes to improve access, quality, and equity in primary healthcare.
The SPM will be responsible for managing the implementation of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC), IPSI, PCC programs in Bihar. The position focuses on providing strategic direction, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, program innovation, and overall project management to strengthen primary healthcare
systems in the state. The role requires close collaboration with government stakeholders, NHM, development partners, and internal teams to ensure high-quality program delivery and achievement of desired health outcomes.
Master’s degree in public health, MSc Nursing, MD Community Medicine with Bachelor in Medical/ Nursing/Social Sciences or any Development related field from Tier 1 University / Institute.
• 10 years of relevant work experience in leading large organizations, building and managing high calibre teams and implementation of projects
• Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging, multi-cultural environment
• Impeccable written and verbal communication competencies, and fluency in English & Hindi
• Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, set priorities.
• Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment.
• Strong capabilities in and commitment to partnership, co-creation, and respectful engagement with a diverse range of individuals and partners with demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly.
• Ability to act as a strategic thought partner to, and build the capacity of, government partners and country team members.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and data tools like Stata, SPSS, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
