The Laboratory Officer (Medical Technologist) will be stationed in the Multi-Disease Dx Project referral (regional) laboratory to support the team in performing diagnostic tests for tuberculosis (TB), HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV), and hepatitis B. The Laboratory officer will assist the laboratory staff perform laboratory testing in accordance with national testing algorithms, standard operating procedures, and quality management standards; ensure proper specimen receipt, processing, analysis, and result reporting; and maintain accurate laboratory records. The role also includes supporting quality assurance and quality control activities, equipment maintenance, biosafety and biosecurity practices, inventory management, and timely reporting of laboratory data.
The position requires strong technical grounding in public health and development, excellent coordination and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple activities while ensuring alignment with regional and local priorities.
