Team Lead – TIFA Project

Jhpiego seeks a visionary and results-driven leader for the position of Team Lead for its TIFA-funded TB-Nutrition Integration project in Bangladesh. Reporting directly to the Country Lead, the Team Lead will provide strategic leadership, technical oversight, and overall management to advance the integration of nutrition support for children and adolescents affected by Tuberculosis (TB). The Team Lead will be fully accountable for the conceptualization, execution, and quality delivery of project activities to achieve all programmatic objectives and deliverables.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in high-level advocacy, program management, and system-level coordination across national, district, and sub-district levels, working in close collaboration with government ministries, international donors, non-governmental organizations, and key stakeholders.

Working closely with the Jhpiego cross-functional team, consortium leads, and consortium partners, the Team Lead will drive active strategic alignment with the Bangladesh Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW)—specifically key directorates including the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP)/Mycobacterial Disease Control (MBDC) unit, the Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), and the Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC). In collaboration with the Project Specialist and Project Coordinator, the Team Lead will provide overarching technical governance to strengthen health facility readiness, integrate nutrition assessment protocols into standard TB services, and co-lead technical working groups to establish and institutionalize key nutrition indicators within national TB recording and reporting systems.

Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment

• Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for the TIFA-funded TB-Nutrition Integration project.
• Spearhead high-level coordination and advocacy with government partners - including the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP)/Mycobacterial Disease Control (MBDC) unit and the Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC) - to align project goals with national health priorities.
• Build and sustain strong, strategic partnerships with government health directorates, district-level, and upazila-level authorities to facilitate smooth project implementation and buy-in.
• Lead the formulation and execution of a sustainable transition and handover roadmap for MBDC and BNNC to ensure long-term institutionalization of the TB-nutrition integration model.

Technical Strategy & Program Implementation

• Oversee the conceptualization, design, and execution of core project strategies, ensuring high technical quality and alignment with TIFA and donor guidelines.
• Lead the development and standardization of facility readiness assessment tools for integrated nutritional and TB screening.
• Direct the operational rollout of nutritional screenings, counseling, follow-ups, and referrals across designated DOTS centers within intervention zones.
• Drive the systematic integration and monitoring of routine TB screenings within Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and Nutrition Corner (NC) units.
• Collaborate with donors to formulate a transition and handover roadmap for MBDC and BNNC, ensuring the sustainable scale-up of the TB-nutrition integration model.

Quality Assurance & Supportive Supervision

• Institutionalize quality assurance measures by embedding key nutritional indicators into standard government and program TB supervision checklists.
• Plan and conduct regular field supervisory visits to monitor project trajectory, ensure fidelity to technical protocols, and assess implementation quality.
• Organize and lead joint supportive supervision visits in partnership with key government stakeholders from MBDC and BNNC.
• Chair weekly and monthly program review meetings to evaluate progress, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement adaptive management strategies.

 Operational Oversight, Work Planning & Risk Management

• Lead the development, execution, and rigorous tracking of the project’s work plan to guarantee that key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones are met on schedule.
• Maintain complete oversight of day-to-day technical and operational activities across all project sites.
• Proactively identify implementation risks, field challenges, or timeline variances, and implement prompt mitigation measures in consultation with Jhpiego leadership.

Capacity Building & Mentoring

• Facilitate high-level technical mentorship and supervision to Project Mentor Officers and field teams on nutrition assessment protocols and TB screening practices.
•  Accelerate coaching and technical guidance to government healthcare providers and managers during joint field visits to strengthen local health systems.

Knowledge Management, Learning & Donor Reporting

• Lead the documentation of project achievements, innovative approaches, best practices, and lessons learned for dissemination across national and international forums.
• Oversee the synthesis of programmatic data and write comprehensive, high-quality quarterly, annual, and final donor reports for TIFA and external stakeholders.

Administrative, Financial & Logistical Management

• Coordinate closely with Jhpiego’s procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely, compliant procurement and distribution of nutritional assessment tools and equipment.
• Collaborate seamlessly across internal Jhpiego departments—including Program, Technical, Finance, Operations, and MERL—to ensure compliance with organization policies and donor regulations.

• Medical Graduate (MBBS) with master’s in public health (MPH).
• A minimum of 8 years progressive experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale public health programs in Bangladesh, preferably Tuberculosis (TB) and Nutrition.
• Demonstrated experience in leading strategic engagement and collaboration with key government institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), particularly MBDC, NTP, IPHN, BNNC, PHC, and district and upazila health managers and officials.
• Proven track record of managing and successfully delivering complex donor-funded health projects, preferably USAID/ Department of States.
• In-depth understanding of the Bangladesh healthcare system including policy frameworks, service delivery models, and health system dynamics across both public and private sectors.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering complex donor-funded health projects, preferably USAID/ DOS.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to translate complex health challenges into scalable, sustainable programmatic strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire diverse technical teams and field staff.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills in both English and Bangla, with demonstrated ability to draft high-impact technical documents, donor reports, and policy briefs.

• High capability to cultivate trust across multi-sectoral partnerships while maintaining the autonomy, drive, and self-direction required to meet performance milestones.
• Strong resilience and flexibility to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 40% of the time for project implementation monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
