Jhpiego has been working in India since the 1980s in close partnership with national and state governments. With deep technical expertise and strong on-the-ground execution, Jhpiego helps design, test, and scale practical solutions and innovations that fit real-world systems across 11 thematic domains (Maternal and Newborn Health, Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Immunization, Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Human Resources for Health, TB and Infectious Diseases, Global Health Security, Women's Cancers, Non-Communicable Diseases, Digital Health).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate MNCH and cancer care training and conduct supportive supervision visits to service delivery facilities and training sites, when state colleagues need ICO support or the sites are difficult/not per forming as expected or where there is a need to mentor state staff
  • As guided by supervisor, work with the CST and program team to contribute actively in activities in cluding leading and coordinating the process of development of MNCH and cancer care technical up dates, preparing materials like learning resource package, facilitating training and supportive supervi sion activities to ensure necessary technical inputs and take initiatives to achieve desired results. En sure quality as per Jhpiego standards in all the activities
  • Build capacity of Program Personnel in training, supportive supervision and program implementation through guidance, coaching and mentoring and ensure implementation of Jhpiego standards and na tional policy
  • Remain updated on relevant technical subjects, Jhpiego standards and guidelines and national policies
  • Facilitate project activities including workshop planning, materials availability, travel arrangements and other activities to ensure smooth implementation
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders, government officials (whenever needed), Jhpiego staff and consultants for effective implementation—as well as liaise with other partners working in repro ductive healthcare in program states and more generally in India
  • Provide technical inputs and support into activities, while ensuring overall technical quality of Jhpiego processes and products
  • Work closely with the team on setting program priorities and responding to requests for technical support from State Health officials and/or local counterparts
  • Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the India Country Director; Director & Head of Programs; Directors Clinical Services and Training and project concerned Associate Directors, National Program Managers to ensure the smooth functioning to achieve the organizational goals and keep them informed of successes, challenges and lessons learned
  • Travel within India in support of activity implementation and mentoring, as needed

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS
  • Desirable Experience of 12 years and above with at least 2 years of managing staff. years of clinical experience in teaching/ education/ clinical setting
  • Sound clinical knowledge. Experience in health programs, particularly Family Planning/Reproductive Health focusing on essential Obstetric Care, IMNCI will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strate gies particularly National Health Mission and Nursing Midwifery Education Systems Skills & Competencies
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s Reproductive Health and Child Health programs, counterparts, and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to speak confidently and exercise diplomacy in dealing with governments, and national part ners; demonstrate determination and tact in negotiations.
  • Technical proficiency with current clinical skills required for the relevant clinical and programmatic ar eas.
  • Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural work environment
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks under different programmatic and technical areas
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, including demonstrated technical writing skills for technical and programmatic documents, such as program reports and training materials, and publications
  • Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Hindi.
  • Excellent facilitation, oral and written communications skill
