Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Finance and Grant Officer based at Delhi. The appointed candidate will report to the Finance & Grants Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that awards are following donor and established Jhpiego administrative and financial management policies, procedures, and sound business practices.
  • Generate various financial reports from QuickBooks accounting software and Board, upload them in MS Excel grant tracking system on a monthly/quarterly basis for tracking, review, and reporting purposes.
  • Monitor and analyse internal financial reports against budget and forecast and share with Finance Manager for internal and external meetings.
  • Coordinate with the concerned project technical team to ensure that periodic deliverable reports/invoice from partners are received in time;
  • Process the payment of Partners after reviewing all supporting documents required under the contract.
  • Work closely with project team and provide support and monitor program activities in accordance with the donor budget.
  • Prepare monthly financial report/Invoice within due date in accordance with the Donor guidelines and budget availability for further submission to Donor for reimbursement of funds.
  • Ensure compliance of all financial operations of staff and Vendor on a regular basis in accordance with laid down financial systems and procedures.
  • Review financial documents such as vendor invoices, Staff claims, Consultant payment and other routine expenses vouchers to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and validity of financial data.
  • Review vouchers and transactions and ensure that expense is align with the approved budget and necessary adjustment in the accounting system.
  • Support in the project closure activity by ensuring to book all expenses at the time of project close out.
  • Support and Facilitate to Conduct periodically internal/compliance audit and implement their suggestions.
  • Assist to Supervisor on regular basis for managing the financial progress of sub‐award at state level.
  • Train and orient program team /Partner on Jhpiego reporting requirements, formats, systems, procedures, budget availability and relevant donor rules and regulations, as applicable.
  • Maintains proper documentation of grant documents and donor guidelines for audit purpose.
  • Assist in external/internal audits and financial reviews by the donors.
  • Prepare analytical reports for management/project leads which would help them in planning activities in advance for ensuring proper spending per approved budget.
  • Perform all other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor and Director Finance and Administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce is essential and MBA in finance is preferred. Additional qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience especially working on various excel based reports.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise experience would be preferred.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of various accounting code/ledgers and its usage in QBE/Tally.
  • Experience working in INGOs would be preferred.
