Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Finance Manager based in New Delhi. The position reports to the Associate Director – Finance.

Responsibilities

Financial Management & Planning:

  • Review and validate financial transactions in QuickBooks to ensure accuracy, completeness, allowability, and allocability in line with donor and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements, including TDS, GST, and Professional Tax filings and payments.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance accounts payable efficiency, including tracking mechanisms to reduce turnaround time.
  • Review monthly payroll processing and associated statutory compliances, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable laws.
  • Provide guidance to staff on financial procedures, documentation standards, and compliance requirements; collaborate closely with State Finance teams, Program teams, and ICO colleagues to resolve queries and ensure seamless operations.
  • Oversee accounting frameworks and cost allocation methodologies in a complex, multi-donor environment, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations of bank, cash, and advances, along with proactive monitoring of organizational fund positions.
  • Support periodic review of the vendor master database, ensuring completeness of KYC and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities, as assigned by the Supervisor, to support efficient functioning of country office financial operations.

Reporting, Compliance, and Audit Support

  • Independently manage statutory audits, IFC audits, and internal/external audits, including defining scope of work, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring timely closure.
  • Oversee replication and reconciliation of financial data between QuickBooks and Tally, and support preparation of financial statements for statutory reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Strengthen and institutionalize internal control systems across Country and State Offices to ensure compliant, efficient, and risk-mitigated financial processes.

Required Qualifications

Qualification/Experience:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant /M. Com / MBA (Finance) from a reputed university/ institute
  • 10–12 years of relevant work experience, with at least 7–8 years in the development sector.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of financial operations, accounting processes, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Branch Office compliance requirements (preferred).
  • Experience of working in decentralized operations environment and in supervisory role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of MS Word.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Tally (preferred).
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to coach both finance and non-finance people on financial topics including budgeting & internal controls.
  • Proactive, dependable, and solution-oriented approach to work.
