Responsibilities

The Market Access Manager/Strategist will play a critical role in supporting the country and DOH with strategies for increasing access to screening, diagnosis, and treatment of women’s cancer, particularly cervical and breast cancer in the Philippines. The Market Access Manager/Strategist, will be responsible for driving market intelligence, shaping access strategies, influencing procurement pathways, and enabling sustainable scale-up to advance agenda for women’s cancer. Key responsibilities include.

  • Lead market landscaping and segmentation analyses to identify high-impact opportunities, unmet needs, and access gaps across geographies and population segments for common cancer commodities
  • Generate actionable insights through data analytics and market research to inform pricing, positioning, and access strategies for these commodities
  • Develop strategies, frameworks, models and communications to outline priority supply-side and demand-side issues, models and solutions
  • For key commodities to enable screening, diagnosis and treatment, identify barriers to access, conduct root cause analyses, and design and execute appropriate interventions to address them.
  • Provide operational support to the stakeholders including Ministries/Departments of Health and local affiliates as needed to coordinate with TB, HIV, and Hepatitis Programs on scale-up planning and public procurement.
  • Establish key connections and relationships with stakeholders across different technical areas, public and private to help drive growth and partnerships.
  • Expand partnerships to help drive growth in different technical areas and services.
  • Support the DOH to collaborate with TB, HIV, cancers and Hepatitis programs to develop procurement strategy to leverage combined testing volumes across multiple molecular assays.
  • Shape and support public procurement strategies, including demand aggregation, volume leverage, and tender optimization to improve affordability and access (e.g., HPV testing)
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships across public, private, and development sectors to expand market reach and accelerate program growth
  • Provide technical inputs into concept notes, presentations, reports for different audiences
  • Track key market access indicators (e.g., uptake, pricing trends, procurement timelines, coverage) and adapt strategies to ensure sustained impact on supply side of essential commodities
  • Execute other responsibilities as needed by the team

Required Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Economics, Public Health or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in public health, management consulting, or product commercialization
  • Superior communication and writing skills with demonstrated excellence in technical writing
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders, including governments, multilaterals, NGOs, and manufacturers / suppliers.
  • Ability to navigate complex governmental, private and organizational processes and favorably influence decision-making in a professional and collaborative manner
  • Familiarity with government budgeting and procurement processes in the Asia Pacific Region, including the Philippines strategic, entrepreneurial and growth mindset with ability to connect the health systems level with operational realities.
  • Experience and familiarity with global health desired
  • Advanced problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • High level of experience and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and presenting findings and recommendations
  • Ability to work in a fast moving, multi-tasking environment while leading and mentoring staff toward ambitious targets
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
