In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases.

 

Jhpiego, in collaboration with the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), works to strengthen the delivery of TB services at the primary health care level and to introduce innovative approaches aligned with the priorities of the Central and State Governments. In this context, Jhpiego is hiring Senior Technical Officers for the state of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Assam. The Senior Technical Officer will provide technical and managerial expertise to the state in shaping strategies and activities for integrating TB services within the primary health care platform and supporting innovations that align with vision of TB elimination. The incumbent will work closely with State and District TB Officers to ensure the timely and effective implementation of project activities. This is a fixed-term position till 25th September 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funding and project requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the State TB Officer and District TB Officers to ensure the effective roll-out of project activities.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the State and districts for program implementation in line with agreed plans and timelines.
  • Organize training and capacity-building sessions for healthcare providers and frontline workers on TB services, the Ni-kshay Portal, and project-related
  • Offer handholding and supervisory support to the State TB Cell and NTEP field teams in relation to project activities.
  • Coordinate with state, district, and block officials to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities and routine TB care services across all levels of the healthcare system.
  • Identify gaps in program implementation and provide technical support to State and District TB Officers in strategizing and establishing a continuum of care for people with TB.
  • Ensure timely collection, collation, compilation, and dissemination of project-related data.
  • Support the supervisor in analyzing data, developing dashboards, and generating relevant reports, graphs, and visualizations.
  • Work closely with the state team to develop and maintain a comprehensive database of project activities.
  • Support the state team and MERL team at ICO in verifying data
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to document learnings, case studies, and success stories under the project.
  • Maintain a repository of all resource materials developed in the state with project
  • Ensure systematic knowledge management of all program documents, including photos, reports, presentations, concept notes, government communications, event reports, IEC materials, and multimedia resources.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support organizational goals

Required Qualifications

Abilities/Skills:

  • Proven ability and experience in working with the government’s NTEP programs, counterparts, and systems.
  • Experience in undertaking training sessions for health workers on TB services and Ni-kshay Portal.
  • Strong liaison skills with state and district government
  • Ability to engage with frontline workers, medical officers, district and block-level officials, and other stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and
  • Ability to multitask and excellent organizational
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively; up to 70–80% of his/her
  • Proficiency in computers - Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in MBBS/BAMS/BHMS with MPH/ MHA/ MSW/Post Graduate diploma is essential.

  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience which include minimum two year of experience in National TB Elimination Program at district or state level.
  • Data management including designing a data entry program, data cleaning, and data analysis, according to the indicators required in the frame of Projects.
  • Familiarity with the health system of respective states, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies/ strategies related to the NTEP program.
  • Experience in working with mentioned state Government (Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam) would be preferred.
