Jhpiego is seeking highly motivated Assistant Manager- Infectious Diseases (AM-ID) based in New Delhi for its RISE project. The AM-ID shall be responsible for analysing surveillance and/or epidemiological data, providing inputs for formulating strategy for ensuring a strong outbreak investigation and response, strengthening multi-sectoral one health activities in the project implementation states.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with the India Country Office and state teams to develop, implement, and monitor state specific project activities, including the development of roadmaps, work-plans, activities, reports ;
  • Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders at the National and State level on infectious disease surveillance, one health and outbreak response in intervention states;
  • Provide support in developing innovative solutions or mechanisms, for detecting early warning signals, technology-based solutions and/or community participation in surveillance;
  • Provide technical expertise in reviewing, and developing technical content for communication materials, job aids and tools, for the community, healthcare providers and front-line workers;
  • Provide support for monitoring and evaluation activities under the project;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time, for the smooth functioning of the project and for the achievement of project goals.

Required Qualifications

 

Any medical graduate (MBBS/BDS/AYUSH) with Post-graduate in Community Medicine/Public Health/ PG diploma in public health;

 

Post-graduate training in public health, public health management, or community medicine, is essential.

 

Experience:

 

Applicants must have 5-7 years of professional experience in public health, including field experience in disease surveillance;

 

Prior experience of working with NCDC, MoHFW, or WHO, shall be an added advantage;

 

Technical knowledge and understanding of public health surveillance and outbreak-prone diseases, is essential;

 

Familiarity with data analysis and producing information and data visualization;

 

Experience of working on inter-sectoral projects or programs;

 

Experience of supporting large scale project implementation;

 

Familiarity with the Indian health system, newer initiatives in disease surveillance including IHIP and relevant programs like NOHPPCZ, IDSP, NHM, Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centers, etc.

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

Experience and demonstrated ability of working with government health programs, counterparts and systems;

 

Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents;

 

Technically proficient with up-to-date skills required for the assigned task;

 

Excellent verbal and written communications skills;

 

Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines;

Proficiency in computers and MS Office applications;

 

Ability to travel frequently;

 

Ability to join early would be an added.
