Jhpiego is hiring State Program Manager based at Patna, Bihar. The position will report to Program Director.

Location: Patna, Bihar

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Comprehensive primary healthcare program and IPSI program in the state of Bihar
  • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of strategies as per the program work plan in CPHC and IPSI
  • Provide support and guidance to the CPHC and IPSI team in ensuring quality implementation of all planned activities
  • Provide technical input and lead the design and implementation of all activities of the assigned programs to achieve desired results.
  • Establish an innovative ecosystem for co-designing, incubating and testing local solutions to address key intractable barriers that impede the delivery of CPHC in the Lead implementation and scale up of innovative solutions
  • Coordination with Government/NHM officials and Health Department staff for smooth project management and sharing of project updates
  • Work closely with SHSB to develop roadmap, operational plans and financial proposals under NHM/state PIPs and other financial provisions such as FC XV, PM ABHIM) for strengthening CPHC in the state in line with GoI guidance.
  • Work with MER team for tracking progress, indicators and deliverables according to agreed work-plans and academic publishing based on the program implementation.
  • Ensure state, donor and headquarters reporting needs are met in a timely
  • Coordinate and collaborate with JHPIEGO staff and consultants for effective program implementation as well as liaise with other partners working in CPHC and RMNCH+A domains.
  • Represent the organization at the appropriate forums as and when
  • Travel within the state or national level as per the project and organizational
  • Support documentation of project results, successes, challenges and lessons
  • Perform or assume other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, MSc Nursing, MD Community Medicine with Bachelor in Medical/ Nursing/Social Sciences or any Development related field from Tier 1 University / Institute.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in leading large organizations, building and managing high calibre teams and implementation of projects
  • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging, multi-cultural environment
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication competencies, and fluency in English & Hindi
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, set
  • Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural
  • Strong capabilities in and commitment to partnership, co-creation, and respectful engagement with a diverse range of individuals and partners with demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Ability to act as a strategic thought partner to, and build the capacity of, government partners and country team members.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and data tools like Stata, SPSS, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
