Responsibilities

The Research and Data Management Coordinator will assist Jhpiego principal investigator and program lead/s in the conduct of research and management of data of Jhpiego’s Woman’s Cancer in various sites in the Philippines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and coordinates the development and finalization of research/study protocols with the principal investigator, Women’s Cancers technical team and Jhpiego’s global monitoring evaluation and learning team
  • Prepares research ethics board applications and ensures the timely issuance of the ethical clearances in accordance with the project implementation timelines donor deliverables and ethics committee requirements. cycle.
  • Directly oversee the planning, conduct and timely implementation of research- and/or study-related data collection, analysis, validation, and quality assessment activities under the technical supervision of the principal investigator.
  • Works in collaboration with the technical and research team to ensure timely, appropriate and ethical recruitment of research subjects as defined by specific study scopes and objectives
  • Ensures appropriate, relevant and secure management of research/study data, data collection tools and other relevant supporting documents in accordance with Jhpiego’s knowledge management practices, learning agenda and data security and privacy protocols. Plans and coordinates regular advisory and steering committee meetings, presentation of progress, preliminary results and dissemination of results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide technical, logistic and administrative support to data management activities of Jhpiego’s Women’s Cancers portfolio, including but not limited, to the conduct of data quality assurance and assessment activities and capacity strengthening initiatives among medical and non-medical health workforce under the technical guidance of the M&E Analyst.
  • Maintain regular communication and engagement with local partners to ensure that project-related data management activities align with project performance plans, donor reportorial requirements and Jhpiego’s overall learning agenda.
  • Provide timely technical and writing support to the preparation of donor reports, preliminary and final research findings in collaboration with the research, learning and technical team so that publication meets prescribed style guidelines and academic standards.

Required Qualifications

Education and Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, development studies public health, epidemiology and other health research related fields
  • At least 3 years demonstrated advance experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and gathering methods preferably in the conduct of implementation, operations, clinical and social research.
  • Excellent command of health research and systems frameworks, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and ethical standards of conduct of health and social research.
  • Excellent analytical, design- and critical-thinkings skills
  • Demonstrated experience preparing implementing research/study
  • Adept at working independently and collaborating with a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Tagalog is a must
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of word processing applications, data visualization tools, statistical software such as but not limited to SPSS, ArcGIS, Power BI and NVivo
  • Understands and familiar with use of academic style guidelines such as Chicago or APA
  • Familiarity of global and national cervical cancer secondary prevention data framework and quality assurance indicators is an advantage.
