Overview

High-Impact Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (HI-MNCH) project Phase 2 aims to avert preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths by delivering a focused package of life-saving Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) interventions. The focus of the project includes supporting accessibility of MNCH services at the community and facility level, including supervision/on-the-job training to ensure quality of lifesaving care for women and children across the antenatal, birth, postnatal, infant and child health care continuum.

Jhpiego Myanmar is looking for a Knowledge Management, Learning and Documentation (KMLD) Manager for the High-Impact Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (HI-MNCH) project. The successful candidates will be based in Yangon but should be prepared for travel within Myanmar. The KMLD Manager needs to strengthen knowledge management to

ensure efficient and effective reuse of information internally and externally. The successful candidate will support the establishment of mechanisms to ensure the smooth flow and use of information across Jhpiego projects to allow staff and stakeholders access to information that will increase quality and effectiveness of our work. In addition, KMLD Manager will be focal for communication and encourage the team to ignite, inspire and innovate. KMLD manager will be working closely with MEL manager for data analysis, conducting relevant training, report preparation, representation and coordination with stakeholders, consortium partners and relevant counterparts. This position will report to the Chief of Party or the MEL Director.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage a Knowledge Management (KM) strategy and approaches for the organization.
  • Support MEL activities such as data analysis, data visualization and conduct relevant training, report preparation, representation and coordination with stakeholders, consortium partners and relevant counterparts.
  • Support organization and knowledge-sharing efforts by organizing and uploading resources to the team’s internal website, sending relevant resources to Jhpiego headquarters (HQ) for sharing among global program staff, and developing systems for in-country knowledge-sharing practices among program staff.
  • Identify the best dissemination channel(s) to support the reuse of information internally and externally (eg. website, online training, virtual collaborative exchanges symposiums, conferences, e-newsletters and social media).
  • Identify key audiences for different types of technical information, including internal and external audiences, and target knowledge-sharing efforts to promote knowledge uptake and application.
  • Leverage Jhpiego’s technology platforms (such as Office 365, Viva Engage) in the appropriate context to expedite knowledge storage, retrieval and exchange.
  • Lead documentation of CLA activities, together with MEL and technical teams, as appropriate, on projects’ achievements for replication and institutionalization into the national health system.
  • Prepare short briefers & learning materials that capture various projects’ learning strategies and key questions to be shared with donors, key stakeholders and other external audiences in line with Jhpiego and donor policy.
  • Support development of learning materials and ensure they are appropriately and effectively represented at public health events and conferences.
  • As relevant, design questions, conduct surveys and interviews, capture and compile photos/video, and develop script and document the success stories.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to guide the approach for collecting national, regional and global level data and conducting research.
  • Work closely with knowledge management, learning and communication staff in HQ to maintain, develop and regularly showcase of Myanmar’s presence on Jhpiego website, and other communications tools.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree: Health related field is preferred. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience in knowledge management, communications, documentation, dissemination, or similar work for health projects.
  • Competence in Knowledge Management, Learning, Documentation principles
  • Competence in Monitoring and Evaluation principles and procedures
  • Substantial understanding of and interest in KM theory, practice and tools, including experience in determining appropriate KM processes, products, and ICT enabled platforms.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia communication tools is an advantage.
  • Experience engaging with different stakeholders preferred
  • Experience in maternal and newborn health preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential; strong presentation skills are an added advantage
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and experiences to identify and evaluate best practices and approaches
  • Participate in multiple teams, adopt team spirit, take responsibility for action items assigned and provide feedback as needed.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to facilitate knowledge-sharing meetings and activities.
  • Ability to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines.
  • Experience of using graphic design platform (such as Canva) to create visual content for infographics, branding and marking, brochures and posters
  • Should have a strong desire for professional growth in the field of Knowledge Management and Communication by integrating Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
