Overview

Jhpiego seeks to engage a consultant as a professional videographer to document the PharmPrEP project implementation in six counties (Nairobi, Kiambu, Migori, Siaya, Kisumu, and Homabay). The videos and photos will be used for advocacy, learning, and communication purposes to support policy dialogue, scale-up, and documentation of innovative HIV prevention approaches.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of Jhpiego’s Communications Team, the videographer will: 

  • Develop and submit a storyboard and production schedule for approval before filming
  • Capture high-quality video footage and still photographs across selected PharmPrEP sites and interviews
  • Conduct and record 14 interviews with:
    • 3 Researchers/Principal Investigators
    • 3 Pharmacy Providers
    • 4 County Health Management Team (CHMT) members from different
      counties
    • 4 National Stakeholders (NASCOP, PSK, KPA)
  • Incorporate natural sound, emotive storytelling, and licensed music to enhance engagement
  •  Ensure informed consent from all participants
  • Provide subtitles and ensure all outputs meet broadcast and digital dissemination standards
  • Deliver both short clips (for social media/policy presentations) and a comprehensive documentary

 

The key deliverables will include:

  • Review of the developed Storyboard & Script Outline 
  • Main Documentary Video - Comprehensive broadcast-quality video (7–10 minutes) showcasing project journey, outcomes, and impact - edited, color-corrected, captioned, and subtitled final version in .MOV format
  • Video Interludes / Short Cuts - 3 thematic clips (2–3 minutes each) for varied audiences – researchers, providers, and stakeholders
  • High-Resolution Photographs - 20 edited and captioned photos (minimum 300 dpi) for reports, publications, and social media
  • Raw Footage & Assets - All unedited footage and project files for Jhpiego archival purposes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Documentary Filmmaking, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience producing broadcast-quality features, news stories, or documentaries for international NGOs or similar organizations.
  • Strong technical expertise in professional camera operation, audio capture and sound design across diverse environments, and lighting setup for both indoor and outdoor interviews.
  • Demonstrated skills in directing on-camera interviews and capturing authentic, compelling b-roll.
  • Advanced proficiency in video and photo editing software.
  • Experience in organized archival and delivery of raw footage, including asset management and backup protocols.
