Jhpiego is seeking highly motivated Project Coordination Specialist – Zoonotic & Emerging Diseases based in New Delhi for its RISE project to coordinate efforts in tackling the growing challenge of zoonotic and emerging diseases. The Specialist will work closely with government partners and Jhpiego to ensure high-quality implementation and timely reporting of its project.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the government departments, and Jhpiego team.
  • Facilitate collaboration and coordination to align project activities with national priorities.
  • Organize and facilitate interdepartmental meetings, workshops, and joint reviews.
  • Track action points from meetings and ensure timely follow-up with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor timelines and deliverables for ongoing interventions towards the government departments.
  • Support in preparing brief notes, updates, and summaries for decision-making.
  • Identify, engage, and manage partnerships with organizations and experts in the field of infectious disease surveillance.
  • Facilitate day-to-day communication with government officials and partner agencies.
  • Provide guidance on technical inputs and coordination for infectious disease surveillance to state teams.
  • Help coordinate training, workshops, and joint initiatives between Jhpiego and government departments.
  • Assist with technical expertise whenever required.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor to support smooth project operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in microbiology, public health, social sciences, management, or a related field (Master’s degree/PhD preferred).
  • 12 years of experience in project coordination, program management, or stakeholder engagement roles.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in working in animal health, zoonotic diseases, or public health.
  • Familiarity with public health programs in India, especially IDSP or One Health initiatives, is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for workshops and coordination activities.
