In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non‐communicable diseases.  Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Assistant Manager - Communication  who will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies for Jhpiego India's Immunization Project and will work closely with the department's leadership to develop effective communication plans for Immunization and Nutrition projects and will oversee the execution of those plans. We are currently seeking a Communications Professional to support our communication efforts for the introduction of the new vaccine like HPV, and to support communication efforts for various immunization and Nutrition projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to raise awareness and increase uptake of the new vaccine.
  • Develop messaging and communication materials targeted towards various audiences including healthcare providers, policymakers, and the general public.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including healthcare providers, government agencies, and other NGOs to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing communication strategies and materials for vaccination programs.
  • Collaborate with Jhpiego's India & global communications team to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational branding and messaging.
  • Support in development of various reports and other documents as required.
  • Create high-quality communication materials, including press releases, fact sheets, brochures, presentations, and other collateral, to support the department's communication goals.
  • Plan and manage communication campaigns and events, such as workshops, webinars, and other outreach activities, to promote the department's objectives and engage with key audiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, reporters, and influencers to promote the department's work and increase its visibility.
  • Manage the department's social media presence, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms, to share updates and news and engage with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage of the department's programs and initiatives, as well as public perception and sentiment towards immunization programs in general, and provide regular reports to the department's leadership.
  • Lead and mentor a team of communication professionals to ensure that communication plans are executed effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all communication-related matters for key stakeholders, including the public, government agencies, donors, and other partners.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure timely and accurate reporting on project progress, milestones, and achievements to relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including creative agencies, designers, printers, media outlets, to promote visibility and impact.
  • Undertake other assignments, which may be assigned from time to time by the Reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public health communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in communications, preferably in the public health sector.
  • Experience working with government agencies, donors, and creative agencies, preferably in the development sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, producing high-quality communication materials, and managing social media channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling copy and communicate complex information in an accessible way.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Indian healthcare system and public health programs is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
