Overview

Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. For 50 years and in over 155 countries, Jhpiego has worked to prevent the needless deaths of women and their families. Jhpiego Corporation has been providing technical support to the Ministries of Health in partner countries across the globe in a variety of technical areas including cervical cancer treatment and prevention, community health, HIV and AIDS, maternal and newborn health, health workforce capacity development family planning, malaria, and IPC/WASH. 

 

The RISE project is a five-year global USAID-funded project, with a period of performance from Apr. 15, 2019 – Dec. 30, 2027.  RISE supports countries to respond to the HIV epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic by providing technical assistance, service delivery, research, and cross-cutting health system innovations. RISE partners with ministries of health, local stakeholders, and nongovernmental organizations in more than 25 countries around the world to advance strategic and policy objectives to control the transmission of HIV and COVID-19. Working across the HIV prevention, care, and treatment cascade, RISE bridges country-led efforts to reach the UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals by 2030. To address the COVID-19 pandemic, RISE provides short-term, emergency response aid, alongside longer-term health systems strengthening, to achieve pandemic preparedness. Targeted technical assistance includes strengthening health information systems, human resources for health, supply chain, and health financing. 

 

The RISE project is looking to hire a Knowledge Management and Digital Health Officer. The Knowledge Management and Digital Health Officer working closely with M&E, technical, programmatic, and operations staff, as well as Jhpiego HQ's central KM unit, the Officer will ensure that program and project information is effectively shared and transformed into accessible knowledge to support decision-making processes. 

Responsibilities

The Knowledge Management and Digital Health Officer will be maintaining Jhpiego-specific knowledge repositories, which include both published and unpublished materials, and promoting knowledge exchange within the project. This role is critical in fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ultimately contributing to the overall success of Jhpiego's HIV and TB programs in Eswatini.

 

  • Develops and implements comprehensive knowledge management and digital health strategies that align with Jhpiego's HIV and TB program goals and objectives.
  • Captures, documents, and disseminates program successes, challenges, and lessons learned through case studies, reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Leads the integration of digital health technologies and platforms into Jhpiego's HIV and TB programs, ensuring alignment with MOH and donor expectations.
  • Builds the capacity of staff and stakeholders in knowledge management principles, digital health tools, and best practices through training, workshops, and mentorship.
  • Develops and manages knowledge management systems, platforms, and tools, as well as supports the implementation and maintenance of digital health systems to facilitate information sharing, collaboration, and learning.
  • Collaborates with M&E teams to analyze program data, generate evidence, and identify areas for program improvement using digital health technologies.
  • Engages with stakeholders, including MOH, donors, and partners, to promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and digital health integration.
  • Provides guidance and direct support for learning or performance, or service delivery approaches that incorporate digital health or mobile technology solutions.
  • Supports content identification, creation, and management on various technology platforms, with a focus on mobile platforms.
  • Manages content on learning management systems, messaging platforms, and social media software.
  • Coordinates digital health projects across multiple team members, including content developers, subject matter experts, instructional designers, and LMS administrators.
  • Contributes to the process and content design for messaging application learning delivery opportunities.
  • Coaches, trains, and supports the technical team in writing, documentation, and dissemination of project success stories and lessons learned.
  • Presents project outcomes at global and international conferences and contributes to online bibliographic databases
  • Collaborates with Jhpiego's central KM unit to create and share knowledge exchange opportunities, such as coordinating presentations, informing staff of relevant online discussion lists, communities of practice, and available online courses.
  • Organizes, catalogs, and enters Jhpiego-authored knowledge assets in the central electronic library.
  • Develops and implements search strategies for locating internal and external knowledge sources, and trains staff on these techniques.
  • Transforms raw data into accessible formats, such as reports, articles, fact sheets, and websites, for sharing with various sources.
  • Serves as a focal point for collecting and standardizing training materials and manuals in collaboration with Jhpiego's central Publications Unit.
  • Collaborate with program officers to regularly create and distribute program status materials, leaflets, and brochures showcasing project achievements and updates for diverse audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in knowledge management and or digital health
  • Strong understanding of conventional and new communications channels, including electronic, print, and social media.
  • Knowledge of donor regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new software packages and knowledge of Public Health Search Engines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Fluency in English and SiSwati is required.
