Overview

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, USA seeks an Management Information System (MIS) Manager for multifaceted implementation research on introduction of self-administered injectable contraceptives (DMPA-SC) as part of a comprehensive contraceptive method mix in Punjab province. The Manager MIS will provide overall MIS support including design, develop and management of IT solutions under the supervision of Senior Research Manager, based in Islamabad.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan and implement all database and project related software and ensure these are updated, secure and function smoothly throughout the life of the project.
  • Manage Budget, track, and allocate MIS services costs to align spending with strategic objectives and improve cost transparency.
  • Lead and supervise the development of software, databases and android-based application.
  • Responsible for development, review and certification of all backup and data recovery, procedure and plans
  • Responsible for capacity building of team on database, applications, data visualization and related MIS operations.
  • Responsible for data integrity, quality and timely deliverables and use of the software, databases and application.
  • Periodically evaluate and Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the organization.
  • Understand and anticipate the needs and requirements of the organization to ensure that software and services contribute to Jhpiego mission.
  • Support the provincial and district teams in data management, and provide accurate, timely data as required by the project.
  • Demonstrate excellent trouble-shooting any challenges that may be experienced by the team in the field when using the database application.
  • Support the project team on digital solutions for smooth data capturing and reporting.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degrees (MS) in computer science/ information systems management/Software Engineering, Or Bachelor’s (BS) degree in same fields. Combination of Data Science degree is desirable.
  • At least 7-8years of experience in developing and managing large scale databases in terms of generating project reports, extracting data and providing trouble shooting support to project teams  supporting technical or programmatic activities in health sector or other health areas. Demonstrable experience of managing digital health projects is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and product knowledge skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret learner needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Working experience in .NET Framework, SQL server, MySQL, development of Android based applications for data collection and awareness raising, cloud base services, Mobile Data Studio, processing, analysis and presentation of data
  • Working knowledge of SPPS, STATA, Power Bi
  • Strong technical skills and comfortable with data management, performance tuning and database security
  • Experience with health sector projects is a distinct advantage.
  • Availability and willingness to travel up to 25% time.
