Overview

MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), funded by the U.S. Government, is a global mechanism that saves lives and improves access to quality, integrated health services by distributing life-saving commodities, medicines, and vaccines, and providing critical health care services for pregnant mothers and children under five. The project provides safe childbirth for mothers and babies, vaccinates children, treats deadly illnesses and malnutrition, and controls disease outbreaks.  

 

Jhpiego seeks a Government Relations Coordinator for its MCGL project who will be mainly responsible for assisting in maintaining internal coordination across the project to compile/revise FD-6 and other relevant NGO Affairs Bureau forms, including preparing documents, submitting according to Government of Bangladesh (GOB) processes, and follow up to monitor and document approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit essential forms (FD2, FD3, FD6, FD9, FC1) to relevant Government of Bangladesh authorities.
  • Follow up with government offices, especially NGOAB, regarding fund clearance and respond to their queries with quick turnaround time
  • Support the Bangladesh Government Relations Liaison in coordinating correspondence with various government and local partners for collecting CLA (Certificate from Local Authority)
  • Prepare annual activity and progress report and ensure submission to NGAB
  • Draft documentation in consultation with the line manager, and submit it to relevant government offices, and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the program and finance teams to compile NGOAB forms in both English and Bangla.
  • Track and expedite visas and work permits for expatriate staff as required.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all NGOAB policies in all operations.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of working experience in government relations in local or international NGO or another relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge on document compilation and GOB administrative processes, especially as it relates to what’s required by NGOAB
  • Basic understanding of finance and budget management
  • Understanding about the CLA collection process from relevant authority
  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Sciences or relevant discipline.

  • Good English and Bangla communication skills
  • Hands-on computer (MS Office) operating skills
  • Bangla typing skill and ability to maintain tight deadline
