Overview

MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), funded by the U.S. Government, is a global mechanism that saves lives and improves access to quality, integrated maternal, newborn child health and nutrition (MNCH+N) services by distributing life-saving commodities, medicines, and vaccines, and strengthening critical health care services for pregnant women, newborns and children under five. The project strengthens safe childbirth services for mothers and babies, vaccinates children, treats deadly conditions and malnutrition, and controls disease outbreaks.  

 

The Regional Technical Manager is MCGL’s primary point of contact with the Bangladesh Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW) at the regional and divisional level and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the project’s life-saving services and work plan activities across the region; and monitoring local partner’s contributions to work plan activities.

 

Job location: Chattogram, Rangpur and Barishal

No. of positions: 3 (Three)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, monitor, and report on MCGL regional and district level activities to deliver life-saving maternal, newborn, and child health and immunization and nutrition services in line with MCGL technical strategies and internationally recognized best practices.
  • Provide ongoing technical leadership and ensure quality of health service delivery in all MCGL technical areas in close coordination with the Technical Director.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with MOHFW counterparts in the regions and relevant District Health Offices (DHOs), other U.S. Government (USG) implementing partners, and MCGL project management team and the local partners
  • Coordinate MCGL technical activities by District Technical Officers and local partners in delivery of life-saving services at the district level.
  • Prepare MCGL regional technical and program reports and contribute to regular monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data collection and reporting.
  • Manage regional and district level technical activities in compliance with Jhpiego, USG, and Government of Bangladesh policies and procedures.
  • Provide direct oversight and monitoring of regional MCGL staff and local partners to ensure quality and consistency of technical activities across partners and MCGL-supported service delivery points.
  • Regularly travel to MCGL-supported sites to monitor life-saving health service delivery activities and provide real-time feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of project operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Maters in Public Healht or related field (health administration, public administration, business administration)
  • At least 7 to 8 years' relevant work experience.
  • Technical expertise in at least two of the following technical areas: maternal health, newborn health, child health, nutrition, immunization, quality improvement, and/or community health development
  • Strong knowledge of the Bangladesh health system, including organization of health care and nutrition services for women, newborns and children

  • Demonstrated ability to lead efficient management processes and systems across a region-wide, decentralized program.
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, organizational, team-building, and representational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Bangladesh health system, including organization of health care and nutrition services for women, newborns and children
  • Previous experience working at the regional or district level in Bangladesh.
