Jhpiego is implementing the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), a global project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). MCGL distributes life-saving commodities, medicines and vaccines and provides critical health care services for pregnant mothers and children under five, including safe childbirth services and treating children and newborns for deadly illnesses and severe acute malnutrition. MCGL provides safe childbirth for mothers and babies, vaccinates children, treats deadly illnesses and hunger, and controls disease outbreaks.
With USAID’s investment, MCGL will continue its support to the Government of Nepal in averting life-threatening events to mothers and all newborns, especially Small and Sick Newborns (SSNBs), through strengthening Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) systems and comprehensive services for SSNBs.
The SSNB Technical Lead will provide technical oversight to all activities related to the Small and Sick Newborn component of Nepal's Momentum Country and Global leadership activity. S/he will support the Project Director to ensure smooth implementation of the SSNB activities at the federal level and will support all SSNB activities in the four Provinces supported by MCGL —Bagmati, Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudur Paschim.
The SSNB Technical Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all technical components of SSNB activities and for ensuring the timely implementation, monitoring, and documentation of the project’s SSNB activities.
