Overview

Jhpiego is seeing a Technical Advisor - Knowledge Management and Learning to support MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership. The Technical Advisor - Knowledge Management and Learning will document and disseminate program results and learning. The position will also provide project management and technical oversight to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team to ensure seamless implementation of the project MEL plan and core workplan. The person in the position will work in close collaboration with the MEL Director and Communications Team Lead to support successful implementation of the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership project. They will also coordinate their activities with the Knowledge Management specialists at Jhpiego and with the rest of the MOMENTUM suite of projects.

 

MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership is a seven-year global project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that works in tandem with country governments and local nongovernmental organizations to provide targeted technical and capacity development assistance, and contribute to the global technical leadership and policy dialogue on improving measurable outcomes for maternal, reproductive, newborn and child health, and voluntary family planning. It is part of a suite of MOMENTUM projects awarded by USAID that coordinate their actions.

Responsibilities

Knowledge Management

  • Implement the project’s global KM plan, ensuring that core and country teams are applying KM strategies to document and disseminate program results and learning
  • Identify, orient, and coach KM focal points in MCGL Country Programs to ensure program learning is captured, synthesized, packaged, and disseminated at the country level
  • Represent the project during MOMENTUM-wide Knowledge Management meetings and ensure MCGL’s results and learning are highlighted and shared widely across the suite of projects
  • Manage project intranet and ensure that key project documentation is available, including both on the MCGL Sharepoint and MOMENTUM wide platforms
  • Facilitate development of high quality dissemination products, including ushering products through USAID review and Jhpiego publications
  • Manage project’s cross-cutting teams to ensure sharing across technical teams
  • Support polished semi-annual and annual reports that highlight project successes, achievements, and impact by reviewing and editing the narrative
  • Ensure project results and learning are highlighted through project strategic external communications channels (including web, events, and social media)
  • Track and report on key knowledge management indicators
  • Manage the global level legacy documentation and dissemination database of all planned outputs and effective communication of status to SMT using PowerBi dashboard

Project Management and oversight for the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team

  • Manage and facilitate annual workplanning, reporting, and bi-weekly team meetings for MCGL’s MEL team.
  • Monitor progress on all MEL-team led activities in the core workplan, ensuring that all are on track and producing results
  • Develop annual MEL team budget and monitor spending
  • Manage MCGL’s global learning agenda and report status updates to USAID bi-annually
  • Support implementing key MEL systems for MCGL including evidence library of all reported quantitative data and project-wide reporting hub sharepoint page
  • Collaborate with U.S. and field-based technical and program staff to produce effective and timely program products, including field-funded workplans, technical briefs, reports, toolkits, training materials, conference presentations and manuscripts.

Collaboration and learning exchanges

  • Collaborate with other MOMENTUM projects on key knowledge management activities including participating in knowledge management working groups
  • Plan and execute learning exchanges around prioritized cross-cutting and technical themes with strong country participation (monthly learning tables and annual learning marketplaces)

General duties

  • Assist with project wide reporting as necessary including reviewing and compiling country summaries

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or in a related field with 5-8 years experience
  • 4-5years experience designing and implementing KM strategies and actions for a global health and development organization.
  • Experience supporting multiple components of the KM cycle: knowledge capture, curation, synthesis, dissemination, and storage.
  • Familiarity or experience with systems to improve access to, use, and re-use of knowledge assets.
  • Experience supporting KM at multiple levels (project, program, department, organization).
  • Experience supporting quality control of KM systems, platforms, and processes.
  • Experience with project management, workplanning, and budgeting
  • Experience supporting projects in low and middle income countries
  • Experience with strategic external communications, including developing content for digital channels
  • Highly skilled in technical writing and editing
  • Expert use of Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Highly organized and methodical
  • Excellent communication at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health is preferred
  • USAID experience preferred

 

The salary range for this role is expected to be: $74,867 -  $92,924.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
