Overview

Jhpiego through USAID Afya Yangu, Mama na Mtoto (My Health, Mother and Child) has been working closely with the Government of Tanzania both on the mainland and in Zanzibar to deliver high quality RMNCAH services and improve health outcomes. Implemented in 11 regions of Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar, USAID Afya Yangu, Mama na Mtoto aims to improved access to quality, client centered RMNCAH services in both health facilities and the surrounding communities, improved ability of individuals to practice positive heath seeking and self- care behaviors and enhanced enabling environment for provision of quality RMNCAH service.

 

The project has completed its third year of implementation, and would like to share its achievements with the RMNCAH stakeholders. In this regard, the project intends to develop and publish a project specific annual newsletter highlighting the project’s achievements and its impact on the lives of women, children and adolescents for PY1-PY3 and also include success stories specifically for the period October 2023 – September 2024. The target audience for the newsletter are the donor (USAID), partners, MOH, PO -RALG and local citizens.

 

The purpose of this consultancy is to design the annual newsletter and repackage the project’s impact/outcome, success stories and lessons learned through texts, photos and infographics to be shared with partners and the general public as part of disseminating USAID Afya Yangu – Mama na Mtoto’s work and impact.

 

This position will be closed on Janaury 10, 2025

 

Proposed Location: Dar es Salaam

Responsibilities

  • Design the annual newsletter including organizing the layout in a user and visually friendly format including design infographics that highlight project impact.
  • Design different data visualizations to present data and information in a simple and user-friendly format.
  • Ensure the newsletter meets USAID branding and marking requirements.

 

Consultant Deliverables

  • A drafted newsletter layout contained contents shared from Jhpiego
  • A designed newsletter template with consideration of the comments received from Jhpiego’s technical team
  • Submitting a print ready newsletter artwork for printing

         

Required Qualifications

  • The consultant must have minimum of 3 years’ work experience in digital material design or related field.
  • Experience working with local and international organizations and clients of similar discipline
  • The consultant must show proven experiences of successfully executing similar assignments
  • Advanced degree in relevant field
  • Maturity and professional ability to handle sensitive information and ability to respect the confidentiality of such information while working with Jhpiego and even after the contract ends
  • Proven ability to work effectively with others - including in multicultural team – and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, and commitment to meet deadlines
  • Evidence of good quality infographics messages
  • Fluency in English and Swahili

 

Timeline and duration

  • This consultancy is for 5 days within the month  of  January, 2025
