Overview

USAID’s Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) award is a USAID-funded global award, that works in tandem with country governments and local non-governmental organizations to provide targeted technical and capacity strengthening assistance and contribute to the global technical leadership and policy dialogue on improving measurable outcomes for maternal, reproductive, newborn and child health, and voluntary family planning. The MCGL Jordan program will provide support to the USAID/Jordan-funded Government to Government Partnership for Health in Family Planning (PHFP) program, led by the Ministry of Health (MOH), with aims to promote and provide quality family planning services to the population of Jordan.

The USAID-funded MCGL Jordan Activity aims to strengthen the stewardship role of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to enhance family planning practices in Jordan. A key component of this project is improving the quality of family planning service delivery. We are seeking a committed and motivated Family Planning Service Delivery Improvement Field Officer to support these initiatives directly in the field. This position will provide on-the-ground support and coordination to health centers, ensuring family planning service delivery improvement efforts aligns with the broader program goals, while offering limited support at the health directorate level as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and sustainability of the Service Delivery Improvement approach in selected health centers, ensuring alignment with MOH standards.
  • Conduct regular field visits to health centers across 14 health affairs directorates to provide technical support, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery improvement plans.
  • Facilitate service delivery improvement sessions for health center staff, enabling them to share experiences, challenges, and best practices with a focus on family planning services.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to health care providers, addressing specific challenges to ensure the effective execution of service delivery improvement plans.
  • Collect and analyze data during field visits to assess practices, provide real-time feedback, and maintain quality improvement processes.
  • Enhance data collection and utilization capabilities in health centers by guiding healthcare providers in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators.
  • Support the organization of training sessions and workshops for healthcare providers, emphasizing the importance of data use in decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with health directorate teams to monitor progress, assess challenges, and develop recommendations to improve family planning service delivery at the health center level.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in midwifery, nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in reproductive health, family planning, or related fields, with a focus on service delivery improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with governmental health systems, particularly the Ministry of Health, and familiarity with quality service delivery improvement approaches.
  • Strong understanding of the health sector in Jordan, especially concerning family planning and reproductive health
  • Proven ability to support quality improvement interventions and work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required; proficiency in English is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This position involves significant field-based work across various health center sites in Jordan. Occasional overnight stays may be required based on site locations and project needs.
