Overview

Jhpiego seeks to recruit a highly motivated Intern Statistical Clerk to be based in Lilongwe. The Intern Statistical Clerk will be responsible for data reporting and management which includes patient registration to ensure accurate reporting of health facility data. Maintain confidentiality and primary patient/client records using standard MOH tools; Meticulous and confidential filing of primary patient records. Routine review of data quality and active data cleaning; Timely data entry, compilation, or aggregation for health service delivery and scheduled reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure that Patients are registered and records are filled in detail in the VMMC sites/OPD and other registers.
  • Enter VMMC data in DHIS2 database in coordination with the site team leader
  • Make sure that page and monthly summaries as per required in the VMMC register are completed in all the sites.
  • Aggregate key data elements in the registers and provide aggregated data sheet showing performance of each
  • Maintain a tracking chart showing reporting status for each site
  • Support the Snr M&E officer in analyzing data from the various registers for reporting and use.
  • Prepare and update graphs and charts for key VMMC indicators and display in strategic places within the health
  • Prepare monthly reports and present the reports to VMMC site facility management team and to the Snr M&E officer.
  • Work with the Snr M&E officer during data verifications and data quality assessments (DQA) and other related data Audits.
  • Maintain database or data equipment at a VMMC site/facility
  • Conduct data cleaning before reports are prepared.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Snr M&E officer and the Site team leader on timely

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Maths, M&E, Social Sciences and any related degree, with less than 1 year of hands-on work experience.
  • Competency in Word, Excel and other computer studies.
  • Strong passion for DHIS2 application.
  • Strong interest dabase management.
  • Data management including active documentation and filing of paper
  • Maintaining client appointment schedules, data abstraction, aggregation and reporting.
  • Detailed oriented with ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic IT network and app troubleshooting and support of point of care systems
