Jhpiego seeks a Project Director to provide vision, leadership and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity for an innovative Unitaid regional project titled Post-Discharge Malaria Chemoprevention. The four-year, multi-country project will aim to accelerate implementation and generate evidence to catalyze the adoption and scale-up of PDMC to address the burden of childhood anemia and malaria.
The Project Director will lead a dynamic team providing quality technical, operational, and financial oversight for core activities and direct technical assistance and capacity strengthening support to country-led programs. S/he will provide overall strategic leadership and vision for the Jhpiego-led team and will manage long- and short-term technical support across all result areas, and ensure the project meets the stated goals and reporting requirements. S/he will be responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short timeframes while ensuring operations and project quality and integrity. S/he will ensure effective organizational management and communication with Unitaid, the host country government at all levels, international partners and agencies, local research organizations, civil society and community-based organizations. The Project Director will be based in the United States or in Sub-Saharan Africa and travel will be required.
This position is contingent upon award from Unitaid.
