Overview

Jhpiego, through the Centralized Laboratory Model for HPV DNA Screening (CLAMS) Project, works with the Department of Health, local health officials, private sector and civil society to advance country commitments to WHO’s global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as public health burden by 2030. The project increases access to optimal cervical cancer screening and early detection technology through capacity building activities, demand generation and awareness activities, supporting scale-up of services through the national cervical cancer control and management program. 

 

The CLAMS project has screened 4,775 women using HPV DNA testing, built clinical capacities of 42 health providers; trained 278 community health educators; engaged civil society organization across marginalized sectors; and introduced HPV DNA testing through self-collection and treatment of pre-cancer lesions using thermal ablation in 5 project sites.   

 

Jhpiego is seeking a technical writer to conduct technical documentation of the CLAMS Project demonstration of the service delivery pathway for cervical cancer screening and treatment using HPV DNA testing and centralized laboratory model.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write technical brief that captures the project experiences, lessons learnt, and adaptive learning & management strategies undertaken by project implementers throughout the project life cycle
  • Ensure language of technical brief aligns with overall Cervical Cancer Elimination frame and key messages
  • Proofread and copyedit near-final and final drafts of technical brief and apply revisions accordingly

Required Qualifications

 

  • Relevant education and training in the areas of communications, public health, public administration and development studies, social science, community development and social work;
  • Have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in knowledge management, technical writing and technical documentation of project learnings in fields of public health administration, women’s reproductive and sexual health, gender and development, health workforce development and/or health systems strengthening;
  • Relevant writing portfolio to support relevant writing experience;
  • Ability to follow and produce a report according to prescribed style guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language;
  • Excellent skills in conducting qualitative research methods such as key informant interview and focus group discussions.
