Overview

The Marketing Coordinator will work with the digital marketing team to execute compelling communications, marketing and fundraising campaigns across digital channels, including established channels on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Jhpiego.org. The role will pioneer community building efforts for Jhpiego, offering our audiences new ways to engage and stay connected. This role will spearhead unplanned social media content—including content that responds to newsworthy global events—as well as managing live moments, and routine conferences and events.

 

The role will provide strategic support to all of Jhpiego’s marketing efforts, offering best practices and coordinating data-based insight and knowledge-sharing amongst departmental and global colleagues.

 

This role is focused on content production, so candidates will be strong writers, have an eye for design, and should possess video editing skills, as well as an ability to be lively on-camera talent. This person possesses excellent judgement and discernment to act as a voice for the organization.

Responsibilities

Social Content Creation

  • Contribute to the creation of original and evergreen social media posts for Jhpiego’s social media channels, including:
    • Written content
    • On-brand design per unique channel
    • Photo editing
    • Social video production, with a high-level understanding of using b-roll effectively to engage social audiences
  • Build momentum for, and oversee social media for live moments, acting as behind-the-scenes producer and occasionally as a visible emcee
  • Increase the capacity of Jhpiego leaders, especially in our countries, to perform well in live social moments
  • Work alongside our events team to elevate our social media for routine events and conferences, including social toolkits, mentoring key speakers and attendees, and identifying potential collaborative opportunities with peers
  • Track and engage with world news to ensure Jhpiego global accounts are responsive to current events, helping steward an internal volunteer team that contributes to newsy moments
  • Partner with our development team to develop content for fundraising campaigns related to humanitarian crises, news events, and other timebound opportunities
  • Work alongside communications and fundraising teams to disseminate social content onto appropriate channels
  • Engage and grow a US-based general public audience with the goal of converting engaged audience members to donors
  • Monitor global social media channels to ensure brand and content compliance, and help establish best practices amongst our global colleagues.

Social community-building

  • Monitor and foster engagement across all social platforms by implementing systems that help us respond, pose and answer questions, comment and dialogue with our audiences
  • Brainstorm and implement strategies to increase engagement with our audiences, proactively serving as a community manager with a focus on Meta and LinkedIn audiences.
  • Build communities of people who want to support Jhpiego’s efforts to save lives and improve health
  • Develop methods to track and engage with our top audiences on key social channels.

Marketing Production, Execution and Support

  • Alongside the Marketing Manager, coordinate marketing projects across the team and department, to ensure execution of deliverables
  • Organize and coordinate annual updates to marketing plans, templates, relevant materials and evergreen content
  • Provide recommendations to improve campaign performance, increase brand awareness, and support marketing goals
  • Evaluate current processes and makes recommendations for process changes, then implement changes to create new guidelines or structure
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill marketing requests as needed
  • Effectively track and manage marketing team projects using project management software

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate with 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and social media
  • Ability to drive engagement on social media
  • Thorough understanding of social media landscape and ability to customize content based on channel and audience
  • Ability to think creatively and execute new and innovative social campaigns
  • Ability to analyse social media data
  • Demonstrated project management ability
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful content for social media channels
  • Ability to work cross-culturally with a diverse and international team of colleagues and stakeholders

Technical skills:

  • Excellent writing ability
  • Strong understanding of design and brand principles, including demonstrated ability to execute creative content on social media
  • Demonstrated eye for principles of good photography and videography and how multimedia content enhances social media engagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experince 

 

    The salary range for this role is expected to be: $40,164 - $53,553.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
