Overview

Jhpiego, through the HPV Vaccination Acceleration Program Partners Initiative (HAPPI) Project, aims to increase and sustain equity, program quality, and accelerate coverage of HPV vaccine to support the goal of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) to immunize 86M girls and adolescents by 2025. This endeavor contributes to the WHO Global Strategy for the Acceleration of Elimination of Cervical Cancer as Public Health Problem through primary prevention.

 

In the Philippines, Jhpiego works with the Department of Health (DOH) to advance country commitments to the global elimination strategy through: (1) building evidence to support strengthened implementation of HPV vaccination, improved vaccine service delivery and coverage; and, (2) targeted operational support to the DOH’s National Immunization Program

 

Jhpiego seeks qualified individual to provide technical writing services in the preparation and production of “Cervical Cancer Elimination Resource Manual for Teachers.”

Responsibilities

  • Undertake relevant literature review and inventory of existing manuals, guidebooks or handbooks on adolescent health, school-based immunization or adolescent immunization, and/or primary prevention of cervical cancer through HPV vaccination;
  • Develop and write “Cervical Cancer Elimination Resource Manual for Teachers” under close guidance of Jhpiego-HAPPI technical team;
  • Ensure language of resource manual aligns with overall Cervical Cancer Elimination campaign position, campaign identity, key messages, and audience analysis;
  • Ensure that resource manual is comprehensible, culturally-appropriate and sensitive, and adheres to standard Filipino grammar and spelling;
  • Proof-read and copy-edit near-final and final drafts of resource manual and apply revisions accordingly.

Required Qualifications

  • Higher education in areas of communication, literature, or social sciences;
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of relevant experience in developing and publishing training or resource manuals for health frontliners, primary level educators, community mobilizers or civil society volunteers;
  • Experience in curriculum development is an advantage;
  • Professional editorial experience especially with in international development sector is preferred.
