The Technical Management Officer will support coordination across workstreams of the Maternal Newborn Health (MNH) Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP). The MNH KEP seeks to align global maternal and newborn health advocacy, metrics, financing and action in support of accelerated improvements in MNH and well-being in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Inclusive of a bi-annual conference series and an online Knowledge Hub and guided by an international Steering Committee of 20 thought leaders, the MNH KEP will enable the MNH community to effectively and efficiently share new evidence, identify opportunities and gaps, track progress, cultivate supportive networks, and galvanize energy in the MNH community. 


The Technical Management Officer will contribute to management and coordination of the Steering Committee, support development of and on-going content creation and digital outreach for the Knowledge Hub and will support overall project management to ensure project components are well planned and aligned.   



  • Support all aspects of the management and coordination of the Steering Committee, including:
    • Managing the planning process for Steering Committee meetings, ensuring the meeting objectives, agenda, and logistical aspects of the meeting are well-planned and executed on time to support the effective functioning of the Steering Committee
    • Leading the preparation, management and follow up after Steering Committee meetings, including preparing and drafting pre-reads, assisting with the development of impactful presentations, developing plans to document meetings, drafting meeting reports, and identifying key themes and action items resulting from the meetings
    • Communicating with Steering Committee members and donors as needed to ensure smooth functioning of the Steering Committee meetings
    • Providing support to the functioning of various sub-committees
  • Support the development of and on-going content creation and digital outreach for the Knowledge Hub, including:
    • Providing input into on-going development of the Knowledge Hub and participating in the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Hub to ensure the site reaches target audiences. Developing and drafting content for the Hub, such as summaries or syntheses of technical materials, drafting blog posts highlighting key issues, or developing learning materials
    • Providing assistance for digital outreach activities on social media outlets as relevant and including content development
  • Support overall project management to ensure project components are well planned and aligned, including:
    • Supporting the development of the workplans, budgets, and other management tools
    • Supporting effective team operations by identifying and ensuring project staff are aware of key project timelines and deliverables
    • Developing internal or external facing project materials, including presentations or other project collateral to effectively communicate the goals, objectives and progress of the project to various stakeholders
    • As needed, provide support to budget management and monitoring of spending
    • Participate in the project reporting to the donor
  • Provide management, coordination or other support to additional project components as needed, including the international conference series and advocacy activities, to ensure effective and efficient project implementation.



Required Qualifications


  • Advanced degree in public health or related field with 3 years’ related experience OR BA and 5 years’ related experience
  • Knowledge of global MNH issues preferred 
  • Highly motivated and confident, ability to work independently and in close harmony with many diverse groups and individuals
  • Demonstrated superior organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse groups
  • Impeccable communications and ability to communicate with high-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating among multiple stakeholders preferred
  • Experience with donor reporting and project management, including financial monitoring and tracking expenses preferred
  • Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technical content 
  • Certified in PM@Jhpiego (Jhpiego’s internal project management curricula) or PMD Pro (or will be within 60 days of hire)
  • Ability to synthesize technical content, draft well-written materials and to develop compelling and visually appealing presentations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Sound judgement and ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions
  • Experience with knowledge sharing and digital outreach strategies preferred
  • Understanding of basic financial management principles and budgeting
  • Familiarity with Office 365 with strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time
