  • Overview

    Sr. Technical Advisor II needed to provide vision and leadership across the organization to ensure technical excellence and will provide strategic guidance for ensuring equity and access to care for the most vulnerable populations served by projects supported by the organization.  This includes representing Jhpiego globally in relevant forums, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders working to ensure universal health coverage. Sr. Technical Advisor II will also oversee and ensure quality technical assistance to country programs.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Drive the development of the vision and strategic plan for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through Primary Health Care
    • Lead the conceptualization and development of strategies and interventions for Jhpiego related to UHC through Primary Health Care
    • Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues and donors worldwide to maximize Jhpiego’s impact, including developing new business opportunities, contributing to positioning, leads development and proposal design and production
    • Provide analysis of business development opportunities to Technical Leadership and Innovations, Global Programs and New Program Development Offices
    • Lead the efforts for resource mobilization for UHC through strategic identification and engagement of donors and funders
    • Define measures of success for, identify country and global quality issues and trends and recommend strategies to resolve them
    • Build capacity within Jhpiego and coach and mentor staff and local partners accordingly
    • Champion knowledge management principles within and outside the organization, including ensuring the transfer of state of the art knowledge, ensuring lessons learned and best practices are shared with staff globally
    • Represent Jhpiego on external advisory groups and in key global and regional technical meetings and committees related to UHC
    • Participate in the production of global guidance on primary health and community care
    • Work collaboratively across other units and with staff to identify synergistic opportunities and to maximize integration of approaches
    • Identify strategic external communication priorities to build, maintain and expand Jhpiego’s reputation in primary health and community care

     

    Required Qualifications

     

    • Advanced degree in public health or specific experience in designing and implementing  primary health care programs
    • Advanced clinical degree in medicine, nursing, pharmacy or other clinical field
    • 15+ years-experience working in primary health care setting in low and middle-income countries   
    • Proven leadership skills and expertise in strategic program planning, implementation and management
    • Excellent understanding of the donor landscape for funding opportunities
    • Strong change management, results oriented and decision-making skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral presentation skills
    • Ability to work in complex environments charged with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
