Jhpiego seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to provide project and technical guidance for an upcoming USAID key and vulnerable populations project which aims to support an integrated community platform of services for KVP to reduce new HIV infections, sustainably improve the quality of life for PLHIV, and improve other reproductive health outcomes in Tanzania. The project will operate over a five-year period.
The Deputy Chief of Party (COP) will work under the supervision of the Chief of Party, who is responsible for the overall strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial management of the project, to lead the regional field teams and local NGOs/CSOs (sub-grantees) in implementing in selected regions in mainland Tanzania. The incumbent will be responsible for translating the project annual work-plan to the regional level, and support the regional teams and local NGOs/CSOs to develop quarterly and monthly implementation plans. S/he will also supervise program management staff, oversee annual work planning, lead the design, implementation and reporting of project activities to different levels. S/he work closely with the program implementation teams to ensure quality and timely implementation of activities, and ensure that resources (human, financial, and material) are available and applied appropriately. S/he will also be responsible for leading and implementing strategies for engaging and strengthening the capacity of Regional Authorities – Local Government Authorities and local NGOs/CSOs. The DCOP will also be responsible for representing Jhpiego to donors and partners, and all other aspects of program management. In the absence of the Chief of Party, the DCOP may be required to undertake the responsibilities of that position on a temporary basis.
