  • Overview

    HR and Administrative Assistant needed to provide efficient general and administrative HR support service to staff and managers on a day-to day basis. This includes contributing to the development and maintenance of the HR function inour Cape Town office and working closely with the District team and HR team at the Head Office.




    • Recruitment administration support
    • Employment contract compliance administration
    • Submission of monthly payroll input and documentation
    • Maintenance of personal files and filing system, electronic or otherwise
    • Production of standard documents and routine correspondence
    • Upkeep of employee electronic records including recording and checking
    • Leaver administration processing
    • Assistance with the organising and administration of events
    • Team support with daily faxing, copying, typing, scanning, systematic and coordinated collection and delivery of internal correspondence and paper management
    • Prepares and maintains meeting agendas, records and distributes meeting minutes
    • Day to day administrative duties to support the team
    • Compliance with the Health and Safety Policies, reporting any matters of concern to the Representatives or supervisor
    • Other duties as assigned 


    Required Qualifications

    • Certificate or Diploma or equivalent relevant qualification in Human Resources Management or related field
    • 1+ year general administration experience
    • 1+ year relevant HR working experience as a generalist
    • Experience with US government-funded NGO highly desirous
    • Experience working in a highly pressurized environment
    • Computer skills including demonstrated hands on-experience with MS Word, MS Power Point, and MS Excel
    • Experience working of HR Information Management Systems
    • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
    • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks with limited supervision
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with all staff and external stakeholders
    • Able to work collectively with fellow team members
