  • Overview

    Clinical Associate/ VMMC Provider needed to support a district-based voluntary medical male circumcision program in uMkhanyakude district and work with other clinical staff to provide VMMC procedures to clients.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Leads a team of clinical and support staff in the delivery of safe, high-quality, high-volume VMMC services, including the use of the correct VMMC surgical technique by age
    • Works within a consortium of partnering organizations, including the supervisory structure of the placement facility, to assure that VMMC services run smoothly and VMMC targets are achieved
    • Responsible for continuous clinical quality improvement at facility level
    • Adheres to locally and internationally recognized standards of quality in VMMC for HIV prevention
    • Ensure rapid reporting and response to any client adverse events
    • Supports monitoring and recording of service delivery data

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Registered Clinical Associate (ClinA) trained in an accredited school/University
    • Experience in implementing HIV prevention programming preferred
    • Experience in leading a clinical team preferred
    • Formal training, certification and experience with VMMC for HIV prevention preferred
    • Able to take initiative and juggle multiple priorities without compromising high standards
    • Demonstrated ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy, as part of a team effort
    • Experience with QA/quality improvement and supervision approaches preferred
    • Experience with clinical training preferred
    • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be multilingual
