Program for the Advancement of Malaria Outcomes (PAMO) contributing to Zambia’s National Malaria Elimination Strategy 2017 – 2021. The Senior Malaria Technical Advisor will provide technical and program oversight and direction in the areas of malaria case management and malaria in pregnancy for PAMO. PAMO will - 1) strengthen malaria prevention and case management activities at health facilities and community level; 2) build management capacity of the district and provincial level to provide oversight/supervision of malaria interventions; 3) improve data reporting, analysis, and use for decision-making by strengthening the HMIS and 4) empower communities to take ownership of the malaria problem and work with governmental and non-governmental entities to control malaria in their communities. The program will operate over the remaining three-years of the original five-year project at national level and in four provinces (Eastern, Luapula, Northern, and Muchinga).
This position will ensure the technical and methodological soundness of malaria in pregnancy and case management activities and, in collaboration with the project team and partners, support the design of service delivery strategies, based on sound and current scientific evidence.
